Leicester manager Enzo Maresca said his side’s third home defeat of the season changes nothing as they prepare for Friday’s top-two battle against Leeds.
Middlesbrough stunned the King Power by completing a double over the Championship leaders thanks to a dominant first-half display.
Strikers Finn Azaz and Sammy Silvera gave Boro the points, although Michael Carrick’s side had to defend resolutely in the end as Jamie Vardy’s 12th goal of the season gave Leicester hope.
The Foxes are still nine points ahead of Leeds and 11 ahead of Southampton in third, and Maresca puts this result down to “one of those days”.
And the Italian maintained that the game against Elland Road is as crucial as ever, saying: “It’s exactly the same for the next game.” If we are going to win the next one, or lose or draw, it doesn’t mean it’s over. It is important, without a doubt, but from now on all the games are.”

Carrick praised his team’s “will to win” and said: “Before the game I could sense that the boys knew it tactically and were keen to get it done.” The incredible spirit and will to win was there.
“We’ve taken some hits lately and had injuries, but I’m happy that something has gone right for a change.” The players deserved it.
‘Now they’re thinking “what’s next?” They could have had more. They say: “It’s not enough, we want more.” It’s up to us to do it. “I had a feeling I was bringing Sammy Silvera, I’m delighted for him.”
