LEGO Masters Australia vs The World saw a record-breaking final on Tuesday night as the winning team was revealed in a shock announcement.

American team Krystle Starr and Michelle Brooks became the first women’s team and the first international team to take home the crown on the Channel Nine show.

The duo walked away with a trophy and $100,000 after their record-breaking victory, which allowed them to build a massive artist studio made entirely of LEGO bricks.

‘Representing Team USA was an incredible honor. “The memories and family that formed Down Under will be held in our hearts for the rest of our lives,” they said.

“Throughout the series and building together for the first time, the respect we have for each other is like no other.”

They continued: “We were determined to give it everything we had and are proud to be the first all-female team to lift a LEGO Masters Australia trophy.”

Krystle and Michelle accomplished an incredible feat with their final build in season six, as they put together the life-size art studio in just 28 hours despite all the doubts.

Judge Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught, along with 200 members of the public, determined the winners of this season, which is hosted by radio star Hamish Blake.

The Australian LEGO designer said: “It was very exciting to have teams from other countries come and do LEGO Masters Australia.

‘Mainly because, although LEGO is universal and does not have a language, the builders of each country contribute a different and unique style.

“Krystle and Michelle certainly did that, which resulted in some incredible figures. Not only did they blow us away with their designs, but I think I learned from them as well.”

Annalena Rohr and Felix Geisbush took second place this season, despite having a strong lead after winning the first four episodes.

The team previously won the first season of LEGO Masters Germany with an impressive fairy build which they attempted to expand with Fairy Village this year.

Meanwhile, Australian team Shane and Dianne Horvath finished in third place with their build called Final Frontier.

The pair played to their strengths with a huge technical challenge featuring an astronaut crash-landing on a strange planet.
