A legendary TV pundit has predicted that Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury will get back together after their shock split.

Married At First Sight UK star Paul Brunson has told MailOnline he thinks the reality stars should make amends and give their relationship a second chance.

Former Love Island couple Molly and Tommy, both 25, ended their five-year romance last month amid speculation the boxer had been unfaithful – claims he denies.

But Paul, who leads the matchmaking panel on the E4 show, says 75 per cent of couples who experience a “betrayal” are able to rebuild trust between them and move on as a stronger unit.

Paul said: ‘I’d put Molly-Mae up against Tommy Fury. I think they should give it a go.

‘You know, in couples where there’s been some major problem or some major form of betrayal and they’ve gone through therapy, there’s a 75 percent chance that they’ll not only come out of it together, but stronger.

“And that is an investigation by the government institute.”

Paul joined his co-star Charlene Douglas at the star-studded UK premiere of Married At First Sight on Tuesday night in Leicester Square.

The relationship experts explained how they bring together the couples, who marry after first meeting at the altar, and insist that it is ultimately up to the contestants to work on their new connections.

Paul said: “The process is definitely long, but the key is to try to figure out who they are and what their desires are, what they value, what their interests are. We also try to look at attachment style. And we take all of that and that becomes the foundation of the marriage.”

Charlene added: ‘I add the sexual side and intimacy to things.

‘We look at compatibility, how they talk about sex, their sexual history, etc. It’s never about putting them together, we just want someone who can have sex all day.

“We want someone who can talk about sex and is comfortable talking about sex as well. We want everyone to be a success story as well. Yes, we do the work and it’s a team effort, but really, they do the work in terms of when they meet, there has to be at least a spark.”

Last year’s E4 series saw betrayals, fights and even a physical altercation, leading to former contestant Luke Worley being fired.

And Charlene has teased that viewers can expect the same level of drama when the show returns next week.

The sex expert admits that she was even surprised during filming when certain scandals arose.

She said: ‘It wouldn’t be Married At First Sight without the drama. We depict real relationships, so do you know any relationships that don’t have drama? No.

“It’s always quite surprising for us because we think everything is going well, it’s all very nice, and then all of a sudden we see them at dinner and they’re not even talking for most of it and we’re like, what’s going on? Then the honesty box comes out and they give us the truth.”

Paul and Charlene are often at the forefront of the drama, witnessing the action behind the scenes and guiding the couples through their difficulties.

The intensity of filming has shocked experts, with Charlene saying she feels “jet-lagged” after the emotional scenes, while Paul needs a spa day to recover.

Paul said: ‘I think on average it takes us a full day to recover.

‘It’s the mental excursion and what we’re doing because we’re not only helping the couple but we’re also thinking about you at home.

“So how can we provide information that will help that couple but also help you at home, and that takes a lot of energy? I enjoy a spa day to relax. I like a deep tissue massage.”

Tuesday’s launch was attended by former stars of the show including Peggy Lawrence, Jay Howard and couple Tasha Jay and Paul Liba.
