Legendary photographer David Bailey, 83, goes to lunch in London wearing a khaki jacket and baseball cap

He is best known as the wacky photographer who shot epic shots in the Swinging Sixties.

But David Bailey, 83, cut a more casual figure when he went for a bite to eat in London’s Mayfair on Tuesday, wearing a khaki jacket and baseball cap.

The popular snapper, who during his long career has featured everyone from supermodels to the queen, enjoyed lunch at Scott’s seafood restaurant.

He donned a military-style Bundeswehr jacket with German flags stitched into the fabric’s upper arms.

The photographer shielded his face from the sun and wore a cream-colored baseball cap that covered his silver hair.

David was wearing a black T-shirt, a matching loose-fitting tracksuit and a pair of brown hiking boots.

His low-key appearance was a far cry from his heyday in the 1960s when he bagged some of the world’s most beautiful women, including Julie Christie and Marie Helvin.

He is currently married to his fourth wife Catherine Dyer, who is 23 years his junior, and the couple have three grown children together.

Bailey’s previous wives were actress Catherine Deneuve and model Marie Helvin, whom he met during a shoot for Vogue magazine.

Helvin was later the subject of a series of nude photos published by her former husband in his 1980s book Trouble and Strife.

Rolling Stone Mick Jagger’s ex-wife, the model and actress Jerry Hall, is also one of Bailey’s subjects.

Bailey is known for his striking black and white portraits and among his photos is one from 1989 of Diana, Princess of Wales.

He also photographed the Queen at Buckingham Palace in 2014 on the occasion of her 88th birthday.
