Leeds: Raphinha insists he’s happy amid Liverpool left
Leeds star Raphinha insists he CAN achieve his ambitions on Elland Road amid Liverpool speculation – as winger praises Marcelo Bielsa’s work
- Brazil’s Raphinha came to Leeds from Rennes in October 2020 for £17million
- The winger has been one of the shining lights of the club for the past 12 months
- His performances have sparked interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool
- He earned his first international match for Brazil against Venezuela last month
Leeds winger Raphinha is adamant he can fulfill his career ambitions at Elland Road, despite rumors linking him to a move to Liverpool.
The 24-year-old arrived in England just over a year ago as a relatively unknown amount from Ligue 1 Rennes, but looked good in the Premier League.
His six league goals last season helped Leeds finish ninth on their return to the top, and he has continued to shine at the start of the current season.

Although Marcelo Bielsa’s men have won just two of their first twelve league games and are currently just two points above the relegation zone, Raphinha’s form has not declined.
He has already scored five goals for the Premier League outfit and was sorely missed when he was absent from the team’s game against Tottenham on Sunday due to illness when Leeds collapsed to a 2-1 defeat.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, and in recent weeks there has been mounting speculation that he could be swapping Yorkshire for Merseyside in the near future. However, the player himself has insisted that he is satisfied with Leeds.
When asked if he felt he could achieve his goals at his current club, Raphinha said: BBC Radio Leeds: ‘No doubt.
“When you bring together players with a really strong, winning desire together with the manager, the coaching staff, fans who love the club, you create a great atmosphere in the stadium and on the training pitch.”
The attacker, who made his international debut for Brazil last month, further praised Bielsa for the influence he has on the team and individual players.

He added: “Marcelo Bielsa demands a lot from us. We know that. We are used to it. We listen to him. He helps us develop and evolve as players, as professionals.
“We listen to him and we play his style of football. That is the football that has given us attention in the Premier League, made us stand out in the Premier League and made Leeds a Premier League team.”
Raphinha is hoping to get back into action against Brighton this weekend as Leeds aim to win again.
