‘It’s another mysterious LeBron injury’: Skip Bayless questions LA Lakers star status after NBA top scorer played on with the issue… while Shannon Sharpe fires back by asking if he ‘calls James a LIAR ‘ in a heated argument
Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless was skeptical of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ injury, demanding that co-host Shannon Sharpe reveal the full details.
It was announced on Monday that James had a foot injury and would miss “considerable time” as a result.
In the latest episode of Skip & Shannon: Undisputed, Bayless called the circumstances of James’ absence “another mysterious LeBron injury.”
He then demanded that his co-host Shannon Sharpe – a friend of LeBron – tell the audience on the show exactly what the injury was. Sharpe took offense at Bayless’s innuendo, taking him to task and pointing out that he doesn’t believe the same about other superstar athletes.
“How come when LeBron James — or someone said there’s something wrong with LeBron James, you said it wasn’t that serious or he’s lying; but you never wavered when Tom Brady said something?’ Sharpe asked. “Tom Brady had surgery off-season “he had it”, how do you know? Did you perform the operation?’

James was on the court in a boot when the Los Angeles Lakers fought the Memphis Grizzlies
James shared his frustration on his Instagram story Monday night, writing ‘f***in sucks’
Bayless then asked Sharpe if he was accusing Brady of lying, to which Sharpe replied, “If you call LeBron James a liar about his injury, I’m definitely calling Tom Brady a liar about his.”
Bayless went on to share more reasons why he’s skeptical. “What exactly is his injury, Mr. Sharpe?” Bayless replied. “You are close, you are in the inner circle.”
“I need to know what the injury is. They won’t even say what the injury is. It’s another mysterious LeBron injury.”
When Sharpe asked him again if he thought LeBron was lying, Bayless replied, “I don’t know, I don’t know anything.” Why don’t you tell us what the injury is?’
Bayless continued his tirade on the show with a series of tweets later Tuesday night — around the time the Lakers took on the Memphis Grizzlies.
Again, as James sat at the end of the Lakers bench wearing a boot, Bayless again questioned the validity of LeBron’s injury.
He began saying, “The mystery grows: For weeks, neither the Lakers nor LeBron would say what was wrong with his LEFT foot.
‘Single? Sprained foot? Toe? Now we’re in the dark about his RIGHT foot, which was somehow injured on a routine run to the basket. If he “heard something popping,” what was popping?
“Towards the end of the first quarter, LeBron walked (limped?) to the Lakers bench in Memphis wearing some sort of protective walking boot,” Bayless continued.
Bayless continued to share his thoughts on James’ absence during a Twitter rant on Tuesday
“What he did in Dallas, play the entire 4th q on that foot and score another 11 points, was nothing short of miraculous.
Minutes later, Bayless added, “Did LeBron get an MRI, as it was reported he would?” Has he gotten 2nd/3rd opinion from foot specialists as reported?
‘No idea. He is still with the team in Memphis, although the latest is that the team will wait 2 weeks to evaluate his progress.
Bayless later tweeted, “Wait, now Shams is reporting that LeBron’s RIGHT foot – which is now in the medical boot – has been bothering him since January and he played through it???
“What about the LEFT foot that kept him out the 3 games before the All-Star break??? I’m so confused.’
