LeBron James officially greeted the 2024 USA Men’s Basketball team with the perfect nickname after striking gold in Paris.
On Saturday, the Americans completed their mission against the host nation, France, winning 98-87 in the gold medal game.
After the game, James was asked, ‘There’s the dream team, the redeemed team, what is this team?’
“The Avengers,” James said.
The reference to the Marvel series seems appropriate, as the team boasts one of the most star-studded lineups to represent the United States in the games.

In addition to him, Team USA featured future Hall of Famers Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, as well as rising stars Bam Adebayo and Anthony Edwards.
Additionally, the team features three members of the recently crowned NBA champion Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.
Curry exploded for 24 points to lead the Americans to victory in their first Olympics. The San Francisco Bay Area sharpshooter has now added a gold medal to his impressive resume after making eight of his 13 three-point attempts.
The Phoenix Suns’ dynamic duo of Durant and Devin Booker each scored 15 points to boost their total.

Team USA went on to a perfect 6-0 record, which began with qualifying for the group stage against Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico. They then eliminated Brazil in the quarterfinals before facing Serbia again in a thrilling semifinal game, where they overcame a 13-point deficit to win 95-91.
