LeBron James has been seen enjoying a car ride with his eldest son, Bronny, amid claims that the Lakers are ready to draft the 19-year-old to keep his father in Los Angeles.

On Thursday morning, the elder James, 39, shared a clip of himself wearing a gray hoodie and velvet cap while playing car music on his Instagram Story, while Bronny appeared to be behind the wheel.

‘Early I’m VIBEZ!!’ James wrote over the clip along with several fire emojis. ‘@bronny Your playlist by the way!’

The duo were nodding their heads in approval at an all-time classic: Lenny Williams’ 1975 hit ‘Cause I Love You’.

Just 24 hours earlier, James hinted that he would be attending the Miami Formula One Grand Prix this weekend while sharing several hair and shaving creams from his brand, ‘The Shop’, on his Instagram Story.

Earlier this week, following the Lakers’ postseason elimination at the hands of the Denver Nuggets in the first round, The Athletic reported that the purple and gold want James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, to return so badly that executives would be open to discussing the maximum three-year, $164 million extension they can offer.

James would be 42 years old at the end of the contract.

The Lakers are also open to the possibility of drafting James’ teenage son, Bronny, who plans to leave college basketball after just one season at USC, in June’s NBA draft if it would help keep his father in the city of Los Angeles. The Athletic reported more.

James has said in the past that he wanted to finish his career playing alongside his eldest son, but he has given less importance to that lately.

“I haven’t thought about it much lately,” James said when asked about the possibility.

“Obviously I’ve thought about it in the past, but at the end of the day the child has to do what he wants to do. I don’t even want to say child anymore. The young man will decide what he wants to do and how he wants his career to go,” he said.

“I think the fact that we’re having the conversation is great.”

James acknowledged that playing in the league for so long had taken its toll on him, but it was worth it.

“It’s very exhausting,” the four-time champion said.

“Mentally, physically, spiritually, everything… but it’s very rewarding because if you love the game, the process and you love being great, then you don’t mind paying the tax on your body, your mind and your psyche.”
