In this world nothing can be said with certainty, except death and taxes… and the perennial outrage created by the date of Australia Day.
No one loves this old chestnut more than the imaginative private editors at News Corp’s Holt St headquarters.
As expected, the issue has been in the center of attention Lachlan MurdochOnce again this week, the fearlessly patriotic and predictably formulaic Daily Telegraph from the US-controlled media giant.
We all know the drill: the woke warriors against Australia Day are disrespecting the nation, blah blah blah blah blah; check out last year’s coverage for all the vitriol.
Uplifting things.
Of course, not everyone in the Murdoch empire is so enthusiastic about the matter.

Inside Mail can reveal that employees at its private radio network Nova Entertainment were told in an email to staff this week that they did not need to celebrate Australia Day on January 26 if they felt too uncomfortable doing so.
On the other hand, the chain’s staff, which includes top stars such as crissie swan, Ricki Lee Coulter, Laura Phillips and how delicious Sally Fletcher of Summer Bay, they were informed they could work on Australia Day and instead celebrate the national holiday with a day off on another date of their choosing.
Hmmm…that sounds eerily similar to all that woke, dumb hippie nonsense that bothers Tele so much. But surely not?
But Nova is not the first media outlet to offer its employees the option of taking a different holiday.
Two years ago, Channel 10 bosses sent all editorial and programming staff an email referring only to January 26 and telling employees they could work if they wanted.
The ABC followed suit, but CEO David Anderson later revealed that only three of the thousands of staff took up the national broadcaster’s offer.
