Leaked photos confirm that the next Samsung flagship is called the Galaxy S20 and has a large set-up with four cameras on the back

  • The images made by an anonymous source have been published by XDA Developers
  • They confirm that the successor to the Galaxy S10 is called the S20, not the S11
  • The S20 + has a set-up with four cameras on the back, a flat screen and thin sloping edges
  • This is our first real look at the coming device outside of 3D displays

Leaked photos have confirmed that Samsung’s next flagship phone will indeed be called the Galaxy S20, as previously speculated.

The revealed images of the Galaxy S20 + from the South Korean company show that the handset will have an arrangement with four cameras at the back, along with a flat screen and thin sloping edges.

Although computer-controlled models from the Galaxy S20 series have made the rounds earlier, leaks yesterday represent the first look at the new phones “in real life.”

The apparently leaked images of the Galaxy S20 + were published by writer Max Weinbach on XDA developers, who said he had received the recordings from an anonymous source.

The photos are said to have been edited ‘image to protect the source’.

‘On the photo from the back, the first thing that strikes us is the camera setting. We can see a total of 4 cameras, a flash and what looks like a microphone hole, “wrote Mr. Weinbach.

“On the right side of the phone we see a volume button and an on / off button. There is no Bixby button, unlike the earlier S10 series, “he added.

The ‘Bixby button’ was a control that activated the Samsung Bixby speech assistant.

Other features of the new design seem to include a smaller, centered ‘perforator’ forward-facing camera in the otherwise uninterrupted ‘Infinity-O’display that comes with a pre-installed screen protector and is surrounded by thin edges.

‘The Infinity-O screen is much less curved than before. Our source said it felt flat – actually almost comparable to the Pixel 2 XL, “wrote Mr. Weinbach.

“Samsung seems to have opted for 2.5D glass instead of their usual curved glass,” he added.

The leaked images seem to confirm earlier rumors that the new flagship offer from Samsung – the successor to the Galaxy S10 – will be the S20 instead of the S11.

The S20 line will include the S20, the slightly larger S20 + and the high-end S20 Ultra that are said to come with more advanced camera technology, including ultra-wide, telephoto and macro lenses.

It is assumed that a number of variant models will also be included on the S20 line – including both 4G and 5G variants of both the S20 and S20 + sets.

According to Mr. Weinbach, only the 5G variants will be sold in the US.

The Galaxy S20 series is expected to be formally unveiled during the Unpacked event from Samsung, scheduled for 11 February 2020.

The Galaxy Bloom is also launched during the event, the company’s new clamshell foldable smartphone.
