Manchester United working to sign ‘other exciting players’ according to leaked email sent by Ed Woodward
- Man United have signed 21-year-olds Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka
- And they look set to add ‘other exciting players’ before the start of the season
- Ed Woodward says Utd are working on more signings in a email that was leaked
Aaron Wan-Bissaka became Manchester United’s second signing of the summer this week but a leaked email sent by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward suggests he won’t be the last player to arrive at Old Trafford before the start of the season.
Wan-Bissaka, who cost an initial £45million from Crystal Palace, joined fellow 21-year-old Daniel James in bolstering manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s squad.
Solskjaer is looking to build a youthful, more hungry side and an internal email, which was leaked to The Telegraph, shows that Woodward is also on board with this policy.
An email sent by Ed Woodward says Manchester United are working on more summer signings
Woodward wrote in the email: ‘Despite the inflated nature of the transfer market and constant speculation and stories, which can be misleading, the recruitment team — in conjunction with the manager — are working calmly behind the scenes to bring in other exciting players that fit their long-term vision for the club.’
The email continued: ‘Following the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea earlier this month, I am delighted to confirm that we have signed exciting young defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
‘Aaron fits perfectly with Ole’s philosophy and plans for building his team and is a player who will excite our great fans as the season unfolds.’
Wan-Bissaka signed a contract for five years worth £80,000 a week.
