Holidaymakers who love to get a caffeine fix on their flights might be delighted with what’s currently in the works for EasyJet services.

Flight attendants are no longer serving generic pots of filter coffee as the airline network now serves Costa Coffee-branded drinks on all flights.

The airline says customers can enjoy Costa Coffee drinks on EasyJet’s 1,184 routes covering 170 destinations in 35 countries.

To celebrate the launch, Costa Coffee’s Master of Coffee, Gennaro Pelliccia, surprised holidaymakers on board an EasyJet flight from London Gatwick to Rome with a “special coffee experience” at 30,000 feet.

Passengers received complimentary gift bags and free drinks from the new range of onboard products.

Travelers can choose from a range that includes a salted caramel latte and a classic, frothy cappuccino, as well as an americano, a decaf americano and a regular latte.

The onboard menu has been developed in collaboration with EasyJet.

The price of a cuppa on board flights within the UK ranges from £3.75 to £3.95.

Pelliccia commented: ‘It was an absolute pleasure to bring the Costa Coffee experience to life in the sky.

‘Sharing a perfect cup of coffee with passengers as they embarked on their journey to Rome was a dream come true.

On Twitter, user Trevor Goldsmith called the news “excellent”, while others asked if they could use the Costa app on board flights.

The official Costa Coffee account clarified: ‘You will not be able to pick up beans or use the app. Sorry!’

Russell Braterman, easyJet’s Director of Inflight Retail, said: “We’re always looking for ways to improve the onboard experience for our millions of customers and give them more choice when they fly with us, so we’re delighted to be launching this new range with Costa Coffee on board all our flights, making a fantastic addition to our popular Eat Drink onboard range.”
