Jermaine Jenas’ replacement on The One Show has reportedly been revealed in the wake of his sacking.
The 41-year-old TV presenter was fired by the BBC for allegedly sending unsolicited text messages to an employee of The One Show.
And now The sun reports that Rylan Clark is the favourite to replace him in the coming weeks.
The publication claims that according to BetIdeas, former X Factor star Rylan, 35, is the favourite to replace Jermaine with odds of 9/2.
BetIdeas spokesman Lee Astley said: ‘News of Jermaine Jenas’ sacking from The One Show on the BBC has sparked rumours about who will replace him as permanent presenter, and Rylan Clark is a strong betting possibility.

The 41-year-old TV presenter has been sacked by the BBC for allegedly sending unsolicited text messages to a female employee of The One Show.
‘Rylan, a man with a wealth of experience in the world of TV presenting, having appeared on ITV’s This Morning and the Eurovision Song Contest, is a 9/2 odds-on winner of the 9/2 chance to fill the vacant post left by Jenas as presenter on the hit BBC talk show.’
Bookmakers also have good odds on Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley taking on the job, alongside Morning Live’s Gethin Jones.
Jermaine was sacked this week and the BBC confirmed that he is “no longer part of our presenting team”.
The employee claimed she received unsolicited communications via text messages from Jenas, The sun reported.
Breaking his silence on the allegations, a spokesperson for Jenas said: “I cannot speak about it at this time.
“I can tell you that I am not happy: there are two sides to every story, and I will be speaking to my lawyers about this.”
According to the BBC, the former Premier League footballer’s contract “was terminated earlier this week due to alleged issues relating to his behaviour in the workplace.”
The corporation added: “This followed allegations involving digital communications, such as text messages, which were raised with the corporation a few weeks ago.”
And now The Sun reports that Rylan Clark (seen) is the favourite to replace him in the coming weeks.
Jenas appears in his final episode of the One Show on July 22 this year alongside Alex Jones.
The TV star, pictured with his wife Ellie Penfold at Wimbledon this year, has been accused of inappropriate behaviour.
According to BBC sources, Jenas will stop presenting his late-night show with immediate effect. He also appears to have been removed from the MC Saatchi agency website.
One of them told the Mail: “It was all a massive surprise but his colleagues have already found out and he won’t be coming back. His colleagues are stunned, they didn’t see it coming at all. They were kept in the dark at first. They couldn’t believe it when they found out.”
The former Premier League star was even seen laughing as he hosted TalkSport’s live show Drive at 4pm yesterday, just minutes after it emerged he had been sacked by the BBC.
Jenas was due to appear on the programme again today but Mail Sport understands this will no longer be the case.
Footage from Jermaine Pennant’s Instagram story from yesterday shows Jenas grimacing after the footballer says: “When you and your best friend are on the radio.”
The complaints are understood to have been related to his “workplace conduct” and the issues were raised with the broadcaster a few weeks ago, with action taken.
The married father-of-four last presented The One Show alongside Alex Jones on July 22, interviewing pop star Will Young, and appeared on the Match of The Day panel on May 4.
A BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Jermaine Jenas is no longer part of our presenting line-up.”
BBC Sport director Alex Kay-Jelski confirmed the decision in an email to staff on Thursday, informing them that “Jermaine Jenas no longer works for the BBC.”
Speaking about the revelation, a source told the Sun“This is a real nightmare for the BBC.”
Jenas also previously presented the spin-off Match of the Day and was a regular studio commentator for the BBC’s Euro 2019 coverage.
He has also been mentioned as a replacement for Gary Lineker on Match of the Day amid rumours he will leave in the near future.
The former player even covered this summer’s European Championship in Germany and acted as co-commentator for the semi-final between Spain and France on July 9.

Former footballer Jenas, 41, joined The One Show in 2020, where he began co-presenting with Alex Jones.
A year later he became one of its permanent hosts.
As well as playing for England, he also played for Tottenham Hotspur for eight years between 2005 and 2013 after signing for Newcastle United.
Off the court, Jenas is married to his wife Ellie, whom he married in 2011.
They have two daughters, Geneva and Olivia, and baby Jacob, together, while Jenas has an older daughter from a previous relationship who lives in the US with her mother.
