A mother of three who died in a lawnmower accident was a beloved local psychologist married to a decorated RAAF serviceman, Daily Mail Australia can reveal.

Frances Crawford, aged in her 40s, was found dead at her home on Thomas Road in Upper Lockyer, south-east Queensland, at 3.40am on Tuesday.

Police were called to the rural property after receiving reports she was crushed by a lawnmower that rolled down an embankment, and Ms Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have yet to make an official statement on how the case is being handled.

Her husband, Robert Crawford, is a squadron leader (a senior position and the equivalent of a major in the military) operating from the Royal Australian Air Force base at Amberley, about 8 kilometres southwest of Ipswich.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest Mr Crawford was involved in his wife’s death.

Queensland Police have declined to comment on the tragic mystery but reiterated that “police will prepare a report for the coroner.”

According to LinkedIn, Crawford has held numerous roles throughout his 14 years in the RAAF, including as a flight commander and personnel officer.

In recent years, she has appeared as an Australian Defence Force model in social media posts, promoting the armed forces’ efforts in Queensland.

In 2021, he was pictured alongside a Papua New Guinea Defence Force captain after a partnership was formed with the RAAF.

“Exposure to new ways of thinking and sharing skills with the PNGDF is invaluable to all of us in No. 35 Squadron,” Squadron Leader Crawford said at the time.

‘We look forward to helping our closest neighbour rebuild its sovereign aviation capability and security systems.

‘In turn, the PNGDF will assist us with our mountain flying training, access to airfield facilities and other training exercises in Papua New Guinea, working side by side in future joint humanitarian and disaster relief operations.’

Meanwhile, Ms Crawford worked for Quality Life Psychology Services in Toowoomba, where she “provided clinical assessments and therapy for adults, adolescents and children”.

In a statement, the clinic said Ms Crawford was a “much-loved and respected member” of its team.

“Frances always took the time to ask about others with kindness and thoughtfulness, often responding with humility and thoughtful humor,” they said.

‘Frances was easy to be around and her gentle nature will be deeply missed, but she will long be remembered by her colleagues, friends and clients at Quality Life Psychology Services.

‘Our hearts and prayers are with the Frances family at this tragic time.’

Detectives spent Tuesday gathering evidence from the home, which has been declared a crime scene.

Police have also been interviewing local residents and collecting CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Australian Defence Force for comment.
