The previews for Thursday night’s episode suggested that there would be a wedding to send off the actress.

Giddish was photographed in stills by NBC in a lovely white gown as her character had a wedding in a courthouse.

The satin dress featured long sleeves with puffy collars and a modest skirt that reached to her ankles.

Scanavino looked dapper wearing a navy three-piece suit.

The on-screen wedding may have been a rushed affair, as Hargitay, Ice-T and Jr. and Octavio Pisano, who plays Detective Joe Velasco, were all dressed casually.

No fuss: Although Hargitay, IceT, Jr. and Octavio were dressed casually for the wedding, it was a quick affair.

Hargitay seemed especially moved by the ceremony. She placed one hand on her chest, and it looked as though she was about tearing up.

The episode’s holiday-themed title And A Trauma In A Pear Tree suggested that Giddish’s storyline could have dark ends. Giddish and her husband are said to be working together in an ‘important hearing’

The outlet said that some fans speculated that Detective Rollins might adopt ADA Carisi’s two daughters after the apparent marriage. Others thought that the courthouse setting might be used to initiate a domestic relationship.

The alleged nuptials have not been a secret, though NBC hinted at them in previous promos that featured short clips of Giddish wearing the white dress and Hargitay hugging Giddish.

Goodbye Hargitay. Hargitay seemed especially moved by the ceremony and was previously seen saying goodbye to Rollins. Giddish had announced that she would be leaving the show in August.

Giddish announced that she would be leaving the long-running series in August. It debuted in 1999.

‘I wanted to address the chatter I’ve seen online and let everyone know that this will, indeed, be my last season on Law & Order: SVU,’ she said in a statement to People At the time.

“Playing Rollins was one of the greatest joys, and privileges of mine,” she said. ‘I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the last 12 years. Rollins is the most popular TV character.

‘She’Still, he has grown and changed. I have too. She stated that she started working on the show in her late 20s.
