LaVar Ball claims Broni James should skip college basketball and head straight to play professionally in Australia if he’s ‘really that guy’

Famous NBA father LaVar Ball has stated that he believes Broni James would be better served by playing professionally in Australia for a year than playing in college.

Paul’s youngest son, Charlotte Hornets All-Star LaMelo, played overseas in Australia and was the best of the three Ball brothers to play in the NFL.

Older Ball brothers Lonzo and middle brother LiAngelo both attended UCLA but their NBA careers never went as planned. Lonzo is currently preparing to try and become the first player in NBA history to attempt a comeback after undergoing a knee cartilage transplant, while LiAngelo has struggled to maintain his G-League career.

It’s better (in Australia). Why? “Because you play against grown men and you get paid,” LaVar told The Sporting News.

If you want to play basketball and you’re really that guy, why am I sitting in class trying to pass a chemistry test? I don’t want to play without chemistry. I don’t want to practice any Spanish.

LaVar Ball has stated that he believes Broni James would be better off playing basketball next season abroad in Australia than playing college basketball.

“You’ll have all these guys in college trying out,[when]you can set up your own stage across the water,” said Paul.

You’ll get haters and fans, and that’s what keeps gyms full. A lot of people want to see LeBron’s son do a good job and a lot of people want them to say, “He can’t play against any grown man.”

James recently earned praise for his performance at the McDonald’s All-American Game and has attracted a great deal of praise, as well as comparisons to his father, LeBron James.

With his senior year of high school approaching, time is also running out for him to decide on where to play basketball next, since college, overseas, and the G-league all remain viable options.

According to The Oregonian, James has narrowed down his college choices to a “best five or six,” which includes the Buckeyes, as well as Oregon and USC.

He was seen visiting Ohio State during the season-opening football game against Notre Dame, before photos of him in an Ohio State uniform were released shortly after.

Although he still has two years to go before he can make his NBA debut, there is a strong chance Bruni will suit his father in a league game as LeBron has spoken several times about his desire to team up with his son.
