Laura Whitmore posted a heartbreaking tribute to her good friend Caroline Flack after the presenter was found dead in her London apartment at the age of 40.
The Irish presenter tweeted a throwback image with her boyfriend along with an emotional poem, which she subtitled: “I’m trying to find the words but I can’t.”
Laura took over from Caroline when she said goodbye to her duties at the end of last year after an attack.

The poem 34-year-old Laura shared the following: ‘To lose someone so special is really hard to bear, it seems hardly believable that you are no longer there. You left us way too early for your time, it seems, and now you never get the chance to fulfill all those dreams.
‘No matter how difficult it is, we will reassure ourselves with the thought of all the memories we have and the happiness that you have brought. You have always lived your whole life, but ours will no longer be the same until the day we can see your smiling face again. “
When Caroline withdrew from this season of Love Island, Laura paid a tribute to her at the time to say: “I am excited to go to Cape Town to host Love Island, the biggest show on television, is an understatement. I want to thank ITV for the confidence that I am at the helm of this huge show.
“I wish it were in better conditions; Caroline is a brilliant host and also a friend. We have spoken a lot in recent days since she resigned. She has been very kind to me and strongly insisted on this role.

“I’ve watched her every series and I know I have to fill big boots. I’ll try to do it justice. “
While Caroline said at the time: “I’m glad it’s Laura … she loves the show as much as I do … again … thank you for your ongoing messages of support … it’s really a difficult time. .. but I do everything to keep my head above water and to solve all this … (sic) ‘
Before her death, Caroline shared a last sweet photo with her dog Ruby. The presenter shared it on her Instagram grid – the first time in two months – in which she saw her French Bulldog flutter.
Caroline’s collage of snapshots, simply quoted with an emoji with a love heart, was posted two days before she was found dead in her London apartment.

The star’s family has been notified and said in a statement tonight: “We can confirm that our Caroline died today on February 15.
“We want to ask the press to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time.”
Love Island also made a statement, they said, “Everyone on Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.
“Caroline was a very popular member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”

Caroline was seen earlier this week wall climbing with a friend at The Castle Climbing Center in London on Wednesday evening.
In a video shared on Instagram by her TV producer, Mollie Grosberg, the giggling Love Island star could be seen as she tried to climb the wall, but returned as she got too high.
Caroline, who returned to the UK last month after a break in Los Angeles to “clear her head” in the middle of her attack, appeared in a good mood during the clip titled: “We are professional climbers #healthiswealth. ”
Caroline was best known for her earlier front line with the hugely popular ITV2 show Love Island, which was startled tonight by the third death of one of the former stars.
Participants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon took their own lives after their appearances in the dating program, calling into question the future of the show.
Caroline’s death comes just a few weeks before she was put on trial for attacking partner Lewis Burton, who accused her in December of beating him with a light before she went back to these claims.

Yesterday the model and tennis player posted a photo of him and Flack on Instagram and wrote: “Happy Valentine’s … Love You.”
His heartfelt break followed an announcement by Caroline that she was about to break her silence about her difficult personal life.
In January she wrote: “I’m going to speak today … my and my family’s life is no longer suitable for entertainment or gossip,”

But one source said she wrote the post “without thinking” and changed her mind and swore to remain silent until the time was right.
The saga surrounding Caroline’s lawsuit saw her resign from hosting Love Island – the winter series is currently in the broadcast and is hosted by Laura Whitmore.
However, it was understood that she would return to the ITV2 show in the summer if she were acquitted in court for allegations of assault.
