Latrell Mitchell is sculpting a new physique for the 2025 NRL season and has given fans a sneak peek of his transformation in a bizarre video promoting his own range of budgie smugglers.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs defender endured a torrid 2024 season, which included injuries, suspensions and eventually a one-match ban after being photographed in a hotel room with a bag of mysterious white powder.
Mitchell is determined to prove his commitment to trainer Wayne Bennett and has reportedly already lost 5kg, even removing the bar from his home and replacing it with a private gym while giving up alcohol.
Now he shows the fruits of his labor.
Mitchell has her own fashion brand called Winmarra and posted the video to promote her new range of Indigenous-themed budgie smugglers with a little help from her Souths teammate Jai Arrow.
Budgie smugglers, for the uninitiated, are extremely small swim briefs that leave little to the imagination.

South Sydney Rabbitohs teammate Jai Arrow joins Mitchell in the clip, which sees the pair wearing very little as they dropped F-bombs over the hot Australian summer.

Mitchell and Arrow are filmed at the Souths fullback farm in various positions, chatting about the heat.
“Hey Trell…damn, it’s hot,” Arrow begins in the video.
“Yeah, it’s warm, hey,” Mitchell responds, opening a can.
‘No, she’s not cold, is she?’ Arrow says.
The clip then starts to get a little vulgar, with Mitchell getting on a tractor and saying, ‘Who put the damn heat on?’ Fuck me.’
—Smelly hot, right? Arrow continues, exchanging a bale of hay for a cold one of his own.
The video continues in the same vein, with the couple opening cans and commenting on the heat in their tiny bathing briefs.
“It’s hotter than a bull’s ass in here,” Mitchell says.

Mitchell has been under a self-imposed alcohol ban since his controversial 2024 season, but fans can relax, it doesn’t look like he’s fallen off the wagon.
While the video implies the duo are drinking beer, closer inspection appears they are more likely drinking cans of Mount Franklin sparkling water.
The video caught the attention of at least one Souths teammate, with Cody Walker joking that he didn’t miss Arrow in preseason training.
“I ran out of @jaiarrow’s voice,” he posted.
“However, grouse content.”
Mitchell won’t be disciplined by the league for the F-bombs in the clip, but his mouth has gotten him in trouble before.
After losing their second consecutive match to start the 2024 NRL season, Mitchell was interviewed and let his feelings known about the club’s 28-18 loss to the Brisbane Broncos.
“Look, honestly, damn, that was shit,” he began.
Mitchell had a 2024 season to forget, including injuries, suspensions and the white powder scandal that punished him for the NRL.
The South star is doing everything he can to impress returning coach Wayne Bennett (pictured together) this year at Redfern.
“In the first half, it was just a difficult game, damn, we showed what we’re all about.
‘Honestly, they’re big guys, they’re competitors. You wonder why they came in second place last year, so damn, we can take advantage of that.
“I don’t care if I’m swearing, guys, honestly.”
Triple M presenter Dan Ginnane had to quickly close the interview and thanked Mitchell for his time.
“You can let one or two bad words slip through, but this was too much,” he said on air.
NRL fans were unimpressed, the league privately warned Mitchell about his behavior and South Sydney introduced a jar of profanity in a tongue-in-cheek way to address the matter.
