TV star Larry Emdur’s daughter’s AVO hell: Five witnesses are called over 22-year-old Tia’s restraining order against tattooed ‘beach buddy’ – as case drags on for two years
- NSW Police Force took an AVO on behalf of Tia Emdur, 22, in July 200
- Hit her friend Rickie Volpatti with orders forbidding him within 100m . to come
- But it will be nearly two years before the case is heard in a Sydney court
Five witnesses will testify in court after police beat a male friend of TV star Larry Emdur’s daughter with a restraining order – but the case has been derailed by Sydney’s Covid lockdown.
Police in the east of the city struck businessman Rickie Volpatti last July with a preliminary domestic violence warrant (AVO), on behalf of his one-time “beach buddy,” graphic designer Tia Emdur.
Volpatti planned to fight the AVO — which forbids him to come within 100 yards of the 22-year-old’s home or workplace — during a much-anticipated hearing Monday morning.
But the city’s Covid restrictions pushed the case back to April 2022, with magistrate Ross Hudson appearing to question the future.

A court heard earlier that Ms Emdur gave police a recorded statement known as a Domestic Violence Evidence in Chief or ‘DVEC’
Magistrate Hudson told police prosecutors “this could be a matter that you just star,” in a clear reference to the case that has been dragging on for nearly two years.
When the hearing is finally held, three witnesses are expected to testify for Ms Emdur and two for Mr Volpatti, the court heard.
Mr. Volpatti was hit by standard preliminary AVO terms that prohibit him from attacking, threatening, stalking, harassing or intimidating Ms. Emdur, or destroying her property.
Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that Mr Volpatti is charged and police have not charged him.
Last year, a court heard that Ms Emdur gave police a recorded statement known as a Domestic Violence Evidence in Chief or ‘DVEC’.
In such statements, alleged victims are filmed telling their version of events in their own words.
The AVO was closed on behalf of Ms Emdur in July 2020, but a hearing will not take place until April next year. On the right, Mr Volpatti relaxes in a spa with a glass of red wine in a social media image

However, a friend told Daily Mail Australia last year that he was unaware of any romance between the pair.
Mrs. Emdur is the younger of two children born to Morning Show host Larry. She has an older brother, Jye.
Comedic TV personality Larry, 56, has described his daughter as one of his “favorite people in the world.”
Ms. Emdur previously made headlines for buying a $1 million property with her parents as a 19-year-old.
The family is known to have an extensive real estate portfolio.
It was previously reported that Mrs Emdur has the ambition to become a fashion designer.
