- A man allegedly tried to access the Canal Siete building
- Restraining order issued to protect 2024 Gold Logie award winner
Gold Logie winner Larry Emdur had an AVO removed for protection just days after winning the top award.
The warrant has been issued by NSW Police on behalf of Emdur against Victorian man Rodney Pearce.
NSW Police said officers were called to Network Seven’s Eveleigh office on Central Ave in Sydney at about 11.15am on August 22 after Pearce attempted to gain access to the building.
“Officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command attended and spoke to a 52-year-old man who had been escorted out of the building by security,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Mr Pearce was arrested and taken to hospital for assessment before being transferred to Surry Hills Police Station.
He was charged with trespassing and possession of a prohibited drug.
Police have issued a no-show order on behalf of recent Logie Gold Medal winner Larry Emdur
Pearce appeared at Downing Centre Local Court where he was granted conditional bail and is due to reappear on 5 September.
Their conditions include not entering Central Ave, in the suburb of Haymarket, or within 200 metres of Channel 7.
The 52-year-old was also ordered to report daily to Redfern Police Station.
Court records show the AVO for the protection of Emdur will be mentioned in court on September 16.
The arrest came just days after Emdur claimed the title at the 2024 Logies on August 18.
In the run-up to the awards ceremony, Emdur had told several media outlets about her tattoo promise, which stemmed from a lack of confidence that she would win her first Logie Award nomination.
The Channel Seven star (pictured with wife Sylvie) has been on television for four decades.
After four decades on screen, the television personality took home the top award.
But early on Monday morning, Bondi Ink tattoo artist Zach was waiting for the Logie winner at the studio where he did the tattoo on live television.
Co-presenter Kylie Gillies laughed as Emdur was getting the tattoo, telling the audience: “He’s actually shaking.”
Network Seven has not commented as the matter is still before the court.
