Several lawmakers have presented Lara Trump as a worthy replacement for Marco Rubio's soon-to-be vacated seat in the Florida Senate.

Speculation has begun to arise that Lara Trump could be the perfect person for a spot in Congress.

Donald Trump’s glamorous daughter-in-law, 42, has co-chaired the Republican National Committee since March and has recently been praised for overseeing dominant Republican victories in the 2024 elections.

The mother of two married Eric Trump in 2014 and has worked in Trump’s orbit ever since, being a fixture in all three of his presidential campaigns.

After reports on Monday indicated that Sen. Marco Rubio would be joining his next administration as Secretary of State, the question quickly arose of who will replace the Florida lawmaker.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will now be forced to select a replacement for the veteran lawmaker who has served since 2011, and several Republicans have mentioned Trump’s daughter-in-law as a contender.

Several lawmakers have presented Lara Trump as a worthy replacement for Marco Rubio’s soon-to-be-vacant seat in the Florida Senate.

“In fact, I’m going to make a public call to Governor DeSantis to name Lara Trump to fill Marco Rubio’s term,” Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said Tuesday on a conservative talk show.

“I think she’s the best fit,” Luna said, adding that Lara is “largely responsible for ensuring President Trump’s victory.”

Luna believes Lara Trump could also likely win the Senate seat in two years, when the election for Rubio’s vacant seat is held.

“I think Lara Trump would avoid a really nasty primary in two years when that seat becomes open. “And I think she has the qualifications, she’s proven herself to be a national leader.”

But Luna is not the only legislator calling for the appointment of Lara Trump in the Senate.

Freshman Sen. Katie Britt, R-Alabama, also endorses the co-chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Britt’s partner, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, also liked the idea of Lara Trump as a potential co-worker.
