Lara Trump revealed that she blames President Joe Biden for the terrorist attack in New Orleans.
She also told DailyMail.com that there are “very strange” links between the New Year’s Day attacks in The Big Easy and outside her father-in-law’s hotel in Las Vegas, amid speculation the two could be linked.
Trump said the Biden administration’s dire withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 created conditions for the re-emergence of the terrorist group ISIS and therefore contributed to the resurgence of terrorism.
“If you look at what’s happened in this country over the last four years – the fact that you’ve had such a horrific withdrawal from Afghanistan, you’ve left a vacuum and space in the Middle East for terrorist cells to grow and flourish Trump said. told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida.
She did not rule out that the explosion outside newly elected President Donald Trump’s hotel on Wednesday could also be an act of terror.
“I think we’re all just like everyone else waiting to find out what happened there,” Trump said. “There’s a connection between what happened there and New Orleans, right?”
“It seems very strange that they happened so close together,” she continued. “But I think we’ll let the investigation continue and wait for the authorities to make a decision on what ultimately happened.”
Shortly after Trump’s interview on Thursday, the FBI said it had so far found no definitive link between the two attacks, despite “strange similarities.”
Lara Trump told DailyMail.com it was ‘strange’ that there were two attacks involving vehicles just hours apart on New Year’s Day
A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The driver shot himself before the explosion occurred
Trump also revealed that President Joe Biden has not contacted her husband Eric, who is executive vice president of the Trump Organization, about the explosion at their Las Vegas property.
Matthew Livelsberger, 37, who drove a Tesla filled with explosives to the Trump hotel, shot himself in the head before the Cybertruck exploded, officials revealed.
The decorated Green Beret’s body was burned beyond recognition in the explosion and was identified through tattoos, Sheriff Kevin McMahill said Thursday.
Meanwhile, Texan Shamsud-din Jabbar, 42, flew an ISIS flag as he massacred 14 people and injured dozens with a rented truck in New Orleans just hours earlier on Wednesday.
The FBI said Thursday “at this time there is no definitive connection” between the incidents, although officials in Las Vegas are still looking for possible links between the two.
Trump told DailyMail.com: ‘As it pertained to New Orleans – this was an individual, I think, authorities just identified as an ISIS supporter.’
She continued, “Donald Trump eliminated ISIS for the first time during his term as president.”
“And now to see that there are ISIS sympathizers and supporters carrying out terrorist attacks, at least as far as we know so far in New Orleans, that’s really disturbing and that’s very sad because I think it just speaks about a bigger problem we have. Overall, the bottom line is that this administration, in terms of the Biden administration, has failed on many fronts.
“And I think one of the ways that a lot of people see that failure is, and probably started with, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the way that terrorism took hold and grew and, unfortunately, flourished around the world, Trump concluded.
