Actor Lance Reddick’s widow said he was “taken from us too soon” as co-stars and fans continued to pay tribute to him.
Reddick, who played Lt. Cedric Daniels on the crime drama “The Wire,” died Friday at age 60.
“Thanks for everything your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the past day,” Stephanie Reddick wrote Saturday on the actor’s social media pages. “I see the messages from him and I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”
Some fan tributes found ways to incorporate the “Destiny” video game series, for which Reddick voiced the character Commander Zavala.

Reddick’s publicist said he died “suddenly” of natural causes.
The actor was also known for his portrayal of the hotel concierge Charonte in the “John Wick” movies. He will appear posthumously in the fourth installment of the franchise, which opens Friday.
“My love and prayers are with the family at this sad time,” said Halle Berry, who starred in “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum,” he commented on Stephanie Reddick’s post. “Lance was one of the most sincere people I have ever met. He truly one of a kind of him.”
Director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves said that “John Wick 4” will be dedicated to Reddickwhile the creator of “The Wire” David Simon described Reddick as the “consummate, devoted, charming and gentle professional collaborator”.
