Lakers star Lebron James will switch fields as he teams up with Amazon Prime to host a Manningcast-esque stream for the Titans-Packers Thursday Night Football game
LeBron James will postpone his basketball duties for one night next month as he will host an alternate Thursday Night Football stream on his show The Shop on Nov. 17 for the game between the Tennessee Titans and the Green Bay Packers.
Sportico’s Jacob Feldman reported that the four-time NBA champion, his business manager Maverick Carter, the show’s creator Paul Rivera and other guests will be among “a unique blend of personalities from sports, music entertainment, business and culture.”
“In addition to live commentary surrounding the evening’s TNF match, TNF will be hosting an authentic discussion in The Shop as the cameras roll.”

The broadcast will be structured in the same way as ESPN’s alternate Manningcast, in that the hosts will interview each other while the game is played.
“Man, that’s that announcement we wanted to make to everyone,” James said on a live feed on Instagram in connection with the Prime Video announcement.
“We’re live from The Shop on November 17, man. Packers and Titans. […] We can talk about football like you said, like the late great Madden. Like all the analysts who do the game.’
“Seriously, we love football and for us to have this moment on Uninterrupted and on The Shop, for us to be able to create this Thursday Night, I think it’s incredible for us.”
“I’m happy to be a part of it, that’s for sure,” said the Lakers’ No. 6.
James Corden and David Beckham were previously featured on James’ HBO show last year
The Shop first aired on HBO in 2018 before the content was also pushed to its Uninterrupted YouTube channel since last year.
Athletes who made early contributions to the show included Rob Gronkowski, Draymond Green and Ronda Rousey.
Talking about how The Shop became an idea, James said: ‘When I was a kid, working in barbershops meant listening to adults talk about sports, clothes, politics, music, everything happened in the shop. It was so real and so candid – nobody thought, well, I can’t be myself here.’
The most famous Britons who have appeared on the show are David Beckham and James Corden.
