The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project 2024 Block Party was held at the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, California.
According to the event websiteIts goal is to “support locally-led, transformative change by partnering with community-based organizations that support young people, their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence.”
Theron, 48, wrote on the site: “Real, lasting change comes from communities themselves.”
The programme has connected with 16 organisations in South Africa, Zambia and Rwanda, reaching nearly 590,000 young people on the continent.
According to the organization, they awarded more than $13 million in grants to disadvantaged students.
