Lady Gaga’s restaurateur father, Joe Germanotta, on Thursday endorsed former President Donald Trump, despite his daughter’s strong Democratic leanings.

Germanotta appeared on Fox & Friends on Thursday morning and said he supported Trump because of the former president’s policies on the economy and immigration.

He said of Trump and Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris: “They are two very different people.”

“One is pure, you know, and he’s a patriot, right?” Germanotta said of Trump. “The other one will just say whatever it takes to get elected.”

Germanotta lamented that his restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, was expected to have its best year ever and then COVID-19 hit.

“But the real base… I don’t vote for anybody,” the pop star’s father explained. “Yeah, he’s aggressive, okay? But he’s a patriot and his policies are there, okay?”

Germanotta said he was in favor of “low fuel and food prices” and “low interest rates.”

Since the economy took a nosedive amid the COVID pandemic, Americans have suffered higher costs at the pump and grocery store.

The Federal Reserve lowered interest rates this week, cutting them by half a percentage point, something Trump lamented as it could help Harris in the polls.

Throughout the campaign, Trump has blamed Democrats for the sluggish economy, while President Joe Biden and Harris have singled out the Republican former president for sinking it in the first place.

On Fox & Friends, Germanotta also said police should be able to do their jobs.

“Let’s not let the protesters burn down our cities and our small businesses, okay?” he continued. “Let’s keep jobs here in America.”

He called the current border problems an “invasion,” echoing language Trump uses to describe the influx of illegal immigrants.

“If you put them side by side, I don’t know what the hell she’s talking about, OK?” Germanotta said. “She keeps talking about ‘opportunity zones,'” he said of Harris.

Since Harris took over as head of the Democratic ticket in late July, she has talked about creating an “economy of opportunity” for all Americans.

He has received support from a number of high-profile celebrities, including pop stars Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, but has yet to receive as much help from Gaga on the campaign trail.

Four years ago, Lady Gaga helped Biden get over the hump with some last-minute campaign events in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Germanotta opened Joanne Trattoria in 2012, after her daughter became famous, but he told the New York Times At that point I could have done without the help of the pop star.

The restaurant’s website still makes many references to Lady Gaga (or Stefani). It offers live music every Saturday and drag queen shows every Wednesday.
