Lady Gaga has opened up about her love for her fiancé Michael Polansky and revealed that he helped her through a dark period in her life when she struggled with her mental health.
The Joker star was first romantically linked to the tech entrepreneur around New Year’s Eve 2019 and then went Instagram official in early 2020, with the pair remaining relatively private about their relationship.
However, in a new candid interview with FashionIn a post in which she poses in several eye-catching looks, Lady Gaga praised her “kind” and “smart” partner, before praising him for “holding her hand” through tough times.
She said: ‘I’ve never met anyone like Michael. He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and mine are very different. He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we’re meant for each other.
“But I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m really happy. I’m healthy. I feel like the last time they heard from me, in this way, was on Chromatica, and that album was about an absolutely horrible time for me with my mental health. I was in a really dark place.

Vogue’s October 2024 issue will be available on newsstands nationwide on September 24.
“I had been through a lot of years before that, but everything started to change. I had a real friend who saw my misfortunes and why. And he wasn’t afraid to take my hand and get to know me better.”
The couple’s engagement was revealed to the world in July of this year, when Michael got down on one knee in April after a day of rock climbing.
Wedding plans for the couple are underway and their legal plan is being negotiated.
And while Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) couldn’t praise their sweetheart enough, she did reveal that it was actually her mother Cynthia who met him first and thought he was perfect for her daughter, telling the singer: “I think I just met your husband!”
And while Gaga was initially apprehensive after insisting to her mother that she was “not ready” to meet her husband, she told the publication that she was later excited at the prospect of running into him at Facebook founder Sean Parker’s 40th birthday party.
After meeting Michael, the star recalled how they spoke for “three hours” and had the “most amazing conversation”, with their meeting then leading to weeks of phone calls before they eventually went on a first date together.
In July, the “Bad Romance” singer dedicated one of her final performances in Las Vegas to Polansky, calling him “my lord.”
Polansky graduated from Harvard University in 2006 and heads Napster founder Sean Parker’s Parker Group.
Throughout their years of dating, Gaga and Polansky have attended the Super Bowl, the BAFTAs and the Critics Choice Awards together.
Lady Gaga and Michael reportedly decided to part ways in early 2023 as the singer-songwriter wanted to get married and have children and the tech executive wasn’t ready to take those steps.
The couple reportedly reached an amicable end to their relationship and remained friends.
Then, in August 2023, they were spotted together for the first time in over a year.
The artist had two previous commitments that were cancelled.
She ended her engagement to Christian Carino in early 2019, and after getting engaged to actor Taylor Kinney in 2015, they split in 2016.
