Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you your new debutante! Pop singer FEMME releases her debut album

British pop singer FEMME, real name Laura Bettinson, released her self-financed debut album ‘Debutante’, in which she has been producing and writing in her South London bedroom since 2013.

FEMME has taken the homemade approach instead of showcasing its talent without the backing of a major label, instead turning it down, which would be considered pop suicide for any new artist, but it shows that they are the real deal is.

Pop music is currently in a major crisis making hit wonders from reality shows like “The Voice” and “The X Factor”, but without real talent, these reality singers fail to advance their careers.

FEMME on the other hand shows that you don’t have to be with a major label, but instead it is sexy to have full control over your music and career in music standards.

Led by the glittering new single ‘Light Me Up’, this kaleidoscopic collection takes a journey through high-quality, female-driven pop that references girl groups of the 1960s, disco divas of the 1970s, icons of the 1990s and modern bass demons.

All channeled through FEMME’s unique, fashionable filter.

With the hype machine topping, incendiary singles ‘Fever Boy’, ‘Gold’ and ‘SOS’ also in tow, ‘Debutante’ reminds that whether it’s tacky, heartbreaking, stimulating or empowering, pop music should always be.

In fact, she has made 9 music videos for her powerful pop ballads, Light me up, Gold and SOS, with over 11000000 million YouTube hits in total.

She told it BBC “When I had those meetings, it was quickly clear that as a woman in pop music there is a certain path and I could see that it wouldn’t be the right choice for me,” she explains.

“I see no reason why pop music cannot be stretched and challenged.

“It’s a ballsy pop record, but it’s all about friends and strength and power, so it appeals to women.

“It’s too easy to just pop out another song that sounds like so-and-so because it made it to the charts.”

It’s been a long way for the singer as creating your own album can take longer than usual if you make it yourself, but her fan base has grown through loyalty and personal interaction on social media.

She’s fashionable: Vogue has declared that FEMME is ‘Fashion’s Favorite New Pop Star’

She supported Charli XCX on her US tour and her fan base exploded throughout the US. The fashion industry has noticed her and she can be seen in the front row at Stella McCartney, listening to a FEMME song or a cameo in the Absolutely Fabulous movie, sipping flirtinis or dancing with Donetella Versace.

Vogue named her “Fashion’s Favorite New Pop Star”, she’s on Stella McCartney runway soundtracks and has been invited to promote new collections by Uniqlo, BooHoo and Adidas NEO.

Her unstoppable personality has given every campaign a fierce spark, an uncompromising energy that shines through every song on ‘Debutante’. As she sings on ‘Sirens’, “You wanted a poster girl, but you got me instead.”

FEMME’s hobby turned into something more last year when she joined the band Ultraísta alongside Radiohead veteran Nigel Godrich’s producer and drummer Joey Waronker.

Although Ultraísta has achieved success in their native Britain, she has now left alone.
