Queensland police have closed an investigation into allegations by then state Labor MP Brittany Lauga that she was drugged and sexually assaulted and will not press charges.

Lauga made these claims after a shocking video of her on Yeppoon’s main street in Central queensland with an unidentified man.

The former Yeppoon MP had spent the night socializing before she was allegedly filmed being sexually abused on the street outside a hotel.

She later alleged that drugs had been added to her and that she had been indecently assaulted.

QPS now says it will not press any charges over the alleged incident after nine months of investigations.

Lauga went to the hospital after the incident and later revealed that hospital tests found he had MDMA in his system, despite not knowingly taking the drug.

In a series of online messages following the incident, she said she had no idea who her abuser was and told an acquaintance: “I was crazy.”

Daily Mail Australia decided not to publish Ms Lauga’s video in public view, including nearby drinkers and fast food customers.

After the incident, Lauga said she was approached by other women who had experienced similar incidents during nights out in Yeppoon around the same time.

Police said at the time that they were aware of reports of similar incidents, but that “no additional reports had been made to local police” and that they were not conducting any further investigation.

Since losing office, Lauga has continued to campaign on his official Facebook page, saying the new LNP Government has failed to deliver on its election promises.

Last week, he posted: “Queenslanders will not forget (Premier David) Crisafulli’s promise to resign as premier if crime figures do not go down.”
