Raising a glass: Sales surge after Kylie launched zero percent sparkling rosé
New figures reveal Kylie Minogue’s wine business has enjoyed another buoyant year.
Results provided by data company NIQ to The Mail on Sunday show that UK sales reached £34m in the year to October 5, up from £28m the previous year.
Since the brand launched four years ago, it has sold nearly 17 million bottles worldwide, the company said.
The singer is known for her usual sparkling wine, but sales in the non-alcoholic and low-alcohol wine category have also soared from £1.7m to £3.2m.
Sales surged after it launched a zero percent sparkling rosé in May, marking its brand’s fourth anniversary and its 56th birthday. And the pop princess said she was “very happy” to launch a sparkling white wine this month.
This comes as Generation Z looks for teetotal alternatives to get rid of tomorrow’s hangover.
Georgina Haughton, Sainsbury’s wine buying director, said: “It appeals to all generations.” “It is clear that Kylie has spent time developing the range and takes advantage of the great quality and affordability without compromising on taste.”
