37 years after they first starred together as Charlene and Scott in Neighbors, the two will take on new roles in Ghosts’ one-off special.

The pair, who once dated in real life, have already taped the episode, according to The sunwith the show airing during the fundraising night on Friday, March 17.

A TV insider told The Sun, “Getting Kylie and Jason back together is a real coup and the results are hilarious.

“The episode is really ironic and they joke about their history and music.

“It was all kept quiet on set to keep it a secret that they would both be reunited for the show.”

Kylie and Jason appeared on screen together last year in what was considered to be the final episode of Neighbours.

The celebrity pair reprized their roles for a brief cameo in the soap’s final episode, which has since been renewed for a new series starting later this year.

Kylie retired from Neighbors in June 1988, after becoming the first person to win four Logie Awards in one year and the youngest-ever recipient of a Gold Logie.

She launched a phenomenally successful music career, selling over 80 million albums worldwide.

After leaving Neighbors in 1989, like Kylie, Jason pursued a pop career and while he may not have been as successful as his on-screen bride, he had a string of hits including Too Many Broken Hearts and Sealed With A Kiss.

Off screen, the pair dated from 1986 to 1989.

They were so popular at the time that they even recorded the Christmas number 1 single Special For You.

Jason told the Mirror in 2016: ‘It was an extremely painful parting of ways and no doubt it took me a long time to recover from it. Years, sure.’

Kylie then dated the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence. She is now in a romance with British GQ creative director Paul Solomons, and Jason is married to Angela Malloch.

Comic Relief will air on the BBC on March 17.
