Kylie Jenner revealed how she almost named her son, Aire, during an interview with British Vogue while battling postpartum depression.
Before settling on her final moniker, the 27-year-old makeup mogul revealed that she referred to her baby as Knight “for a long time.”
While she’s more than happy with her final choice on what to name her youngest child, the reality star joked that her daughter, Stormi, “still to this day” will ask her if she remembers “when Aire’s name was Knight.”
The six-year-old, who the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum shares with Travis Scott, also insists to her mom that she likes the name, Knight, “more” than Aire.
However, when the conversation comes up, Jenner simply ignores it and pretends not to remember that episode.

Before settling on Aire, she and her ex-partner, 33, had considered the name Wolf, but quickly decided it didn’t suit her.
In March 2022, just a month after his birth, Jenner clarified that Wolf was no longer her son’s name.
“We didn’t really feel like it was him. We just wanted to share it because I see Wolf everywhere,” the billionaire explained at the time.
Shortly before her son’s first birthday, she shared his new name, Aire, which means ‘Lion of God.’
During her interview with British Vogue magazine, Jenner got vulnerable as she shared that she finally feels like herself again.
“(Looking back) I think being pregnant, I was wearing sweatpants every day, I didn’t have time to even think about some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year. Mentally, it’s very hard. Hormonally, it’s very hard,” she explained.
After Aire was born, Jenner said she suffered from “major postpartum depression.”
“It affected me differently both times. With my son it was probably a lot of postpartum depression, so I got really emotional about things that I probably wouldn’t get that emotional about (normally),” she told the outlet.

Jenner recalled being on the phone “all day” with her mother, Kris Jenner, “crying” as she struggled to “figure out (Air’s) name.”
“My advice to all my friends who are going to have children is to choose the name beforehand, because when the hormones attack you, you can’t make decisions. You can’t,” she said.
At the time, the mother of two said not being able to choose a name for her baby made her feel like a “failure.”
“When I met him, he was the most beautiful thing in my life and I couldn’t believe how perfect he was. I felt like such a failure that I couldn’t name him,” she recalls. “He deserved so much more than that. It really touched me.”

Over the years, Jenner has been candid with her fans about her postpartum struggles.
During a 2022 episode of her family’s reality show The Kardashians, she admitted that she suffered from “postpartum depression” and “cried non-stop all day for the first three weeks” after giving birth to Aire.
“It’s just postpartum depression,” the TV star told viewers. “And then it goes away.”
Still, Jenner said shedding so many tears made even “lying in bed” painful because “her head hurt so much.”
In a confession, she explained: “I’m not a doctor, but I read on Google that they call it ‘baby blues’ when it doesn’t last more than six weeks. After about six weeks, I started to feel better, but I was definitely depressed.”

She also offered words of encouragement to other mothers as she spoke candidly about her postpartum struggles.
“I just want to say to my moms that postpartum has not been easy. It has not been easy, it is very difficult,” she said on her Instagram Stories. “This experience for me, personally, has been a little bit more difficult than with my daughter.”
She added: “It’s not easy mentally, physically, spiritually… it’s crazy. I didn’t want to go back to life without saying it because I think we can look on the internet for other mothers who are going through the same thing right now, we can look on the internet and it may seem a lot easier for other people and, for example, the pressure that we have on us, but it hasn’t been easy for me.
“It’s been tough and I just wanted to say it. I didn’t even think I’d make it to practice today, but I’m here and I feel better, so you can do it.”
“It’s okay to not be okay,” she said. “When I realized that, I put pressure on myself and I keep reminding myself that I created a complete human being.”
“He’s a beautiful, healthy little boy. We need to stop putting pressure on ourselves to come back, not even physically, but mentally after the birth. So yeah, just sending you guys some love. Love you guys.”
