Superstar sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue hope to make music history.

Last month they both topped the UK iTunes charts with their latest individual singles, and they’re waiting to find out if this has ever been done before.

Dannii, 51, was number one with her single We Could Be The One, while her older sister Kylie, 55, was number two with her smash hit Padam Padam.

Dannii said on Channel 7’s Sunrise that she was shocked to reach number one with her new single, the theme song for the new BBC reality show I Kissed A Boy, of which she is the presenter.

She added, “It was crazy because she (Kylie) was number one and then someone messaged me saying, ‘Do you know you’re number one now?

“Kylie called me right away and she was like, ‘Isn’t this incredible?’

That is a first for the iTunes chart that two sisters go number one and number two, we have yet to find out.

“But to still be doing great things with music, it’s such a rush.”

The Australian pop star has a 13-year-old son named Ethan, who she shares with her ex-partner Kris Smith.

While she admitted that her son probably doesn’t know all of her songs, Dannii said he’s very supportive of her and Kylie, and was ecstatic when he heard his aunt’s latest single at the grocery store.

Dannii explained, “It was the funniest tYesterday we were running through the supermarket to get groceries and stuff for school and Kylie’s Padam Padam came on.

(Me and Ethan) looked at each other and said “Oh my God” as they ran down the aisle.

“I took a video of him with the trolley and sent it to my sister.

“From being on stage at World Pride to the local supermarket, it’s all happening.”

Speaking to Channel 7's Sunrise, Dannii said she was shocked to reach number one with her new single, the theme song for the new BBC reality show I Kissed A Boy, which she hosts.

Music legend Kylie recently announced the happy news of her younger sister’s success with a heartwarming post on Instagram.

Kylie shared a photo of herself sharing the stage with Dannii, taken at the Sydney World Pride opening concert.

‘So proud of my sister. To be on the charts together is crazy, awesome and wonderful,” Kylie said in the caption.
