‘Neymar’s departure is a vital precondition for Kylian Mbappe to secure his PSG contract until 2025’, with reports in Spain suggesting President Nasser Al-Khelaifi ‘took matters into his own hands to try and get the Brazilian last summer to sell’
- Kylian Mbappé’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains front page news
- The French star has reportedly told the club’s hierarchy to switch to Neymar
- Mbappe claimed otherwise he would not fulfill his three-year contract with the club
- Tensions between Mbappe and Neymar have risen further this season
Kylian Mbappe has reportedly told the PSG hierarchy that he will only fulfill his contract with the club if Neymar is sold.
The French star signed a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions worth £650,000 a week until 2025 in the summer after sensationally rebuffing Real Madrid’s advances.
As part of the new deal, Mbappé also gained influence over sports affairs and the way the club is run.

However, it has not stopped talking at the Parc des Princes of various dramas that continue to engulf the club, as reports emerged in Le Parisien last week that Mbappe now wants to leave PSG after feeling ‘betrayed’ by the board.
Despite rumors about his future, he claimed that “it is not true that he has asked to leave PSG in January” after the Parisiens beat Marseille 1-0 over the weekend.
According to El PaisMbappe has now told PSG’s hierarchy that he will only fulfill his contract and stay with the club if Neymar is moved.
The report says the Frenchman wants “a management model based on rigor” and is not satisfied with Neymar’s lack of discipline.
Mbappe is also unhappy about the lack of discipline the Brazilian is showing at the club
When the Brazilian extended his contract until 2027, Mbappe was deeply disappointed with the PSG hierarchy and this cast doubt on his future at the club.
According to Spanish outlet SportPSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi realized he had to do something to allay Mbappe’s discontent and so tried to find a potential candidate for Neymar over the summer.
Newcastle was the only option, however, and Neymar was not interested in a move to St James’ Park, while Chelsea’s reported interset, which the Brazilian loved, never developed.
Tensions between Mbappe and Neymar have increased in recent months, with the duo clashing over a penalty during PSG’s 5-2 win over Montpellier in August.
After Mbappe missed a penalty earlier in the game, the two got into an argument over who should take PSG’s second goal.

Neymar eventually took it up and scored, but Mbappe didn’t celebrate with his team-mate. Neymar then liked a series of tweets criticizing Mbappé.
After that, Mbappe seemingly refused to go to Neymar in their Champions League clash with Juventus, when the Frenchman instead opted to shoot and missed the target.
In addition, a report L’Equipe last week suggested the dissatisfaction within the squad towards Mbappe continues to grow.
Several of his team-mates are reportedly unhappy with the French star’s attitude, which continues to change each week, with Mbappe becoming increasingly isolated within the squad.

The PSG squad is now split, with Neymar – and his South American team-mates turning away from Mbappe after the Brazilian learned the Frenchman would like to see him leave.
Likewise, centre-back Marquinhos and the Spanish-speakers in the squad are also angry at Mbappe’s increased power.
Mbappe’s support is shrinking, as the club’s star player only has the support of his French colleagues Presnel Kimpembe, Nordi Mukiele and Hugo Ekikike, along with Achraf Hakimi.
