Kylian Mbappé has confirmed that this will be his last season at PSG after seven years at the club.
The 25-year-old made the announcement in a social media post on Friday and confirmed that his last game at the Parc des Princes will be when they host Toulouse on Sunday.
Mbappe has long been linked with a move away from the French capital and is expected to complete a long-awaited deal to join Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“Hello everyone, I’m Kylian.” Mbappé announced it on his official X account (formerly Twitter).
‘I wanted to talk with you. I have always said that I would talk to you and I wanted to announce to everyone that it is my last year at Paris Saint Germain, I will not extend it and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks.

The 25-year-old player addressed the club’s fans directly in a three-minute video broadcast on social media.
I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes on Sunday. There are many emotions, many years in which I had the opportunity and the great honor of being a member of the largest French club. One of the largest in the world.
“What allowed me to get here to have my first experience in the club with a lot of pressure to grow as a player, of course, being alongside some of the best in history, some of the champions, meeting a lot of people, growing” . as a man too. With all the glory and the mistakes I’ve made.
“First of all, I want to thank the teammates I had, all the coaches, Unai Emery, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier and Luis Enrique.”
‘To the sports directors, Leonardo and Luis Campos for always accompanying me. All the club staff, no one sees the people in the shadows, whether it’s the physiotherapists, the stewards, the performance team, all the office staff, the campus staff, everyone.
‘All these incredible people who give everything for the club and deserve to have this recognition. Despite everything that can happen outside, despite all the media that sometimes surrounds the club, there are true lovers of the club who want to protect it and make it shine and it’s great.
“And I know that with all these people, the club is in good hands.
‘It’s difficult and I never thought it would be so difficult to announce that I am leaving my country. France, Ligue 1, a league that I have always known. But I think I needed this, a new challenge after seven years. It’s difficult and of course there are some people I want to thank above all. These are the fans.
Mbappé thanked each of the coaches he played with in Paris by name in his statement
The 25-year-old admitted he has not always been the most “demonstrative” player, but thanked the club’s fans for their support.
‘I know I’m not the most demonstrative player. I haven’t always been up to you for seven years. I have always wanted to be effective.
‘PSG is a club that never leaves anyone indifferent. We can love it or hate it. I made the decision to love him and did so for seven years with ups and downs, of course. But I do not regret at any time having signed with this prestigious club.
“It is a club that I will keep in my memory all my life. I will tell everyone that throughout my life I had the opportunity to play.
“I will no longer be a player, but I will continue to watch all the games, of course, because it is a club in which I will always be interested and I will always closely follow its developments.
‘It was me with my qualities and defects, but I tried to give the best version of myself during those seven years.
‘In advance I want to thank you because without you I would never have experienced half of the emotions I felt. And for that I am grateful. Thank you all. I hope we finish this year with one last trophy. Let’s have some good times for the rest and believe that you remain in my heart forever.’
Mbappé found himself at odds with the club last summer after he rejected a one-year extension to his contract, citing his discontent with the direction the club was taking.
Mbappé informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi earlier this season that he would not sign a contract extension.
He is expected to join Real Madrid this summer, joining the likes of Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham in Carlo Ancelotti’s all-conquering team.
PSG had been willing to give him greater incentives to maintain a long-term contract with plans underway to recruit more French internationals and create a closer identity with the club’s fan base.
The decision led to him being briefly banned from training with the first team, and although he eventually returned to the starting eleven with Enrique, speculation continued to mount throughout the campaign that he would leave this summer.
In January, reports indicated that Mbappe had informed the club that he would not be signing any extension to his current contract, which is reportedly worth more than £21.4 million a year.
Mail Sport understands Madrid are keen to make Mbappe the club’s highest earner, surpassing the £10.3m a season they pay Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
They will also pay a registration fee of around £85.5m and enter into talks over what percentage of their image rights they retain.
The player’s mother, Fayza Lamari, wants Madrid to abandon its usual 50-50 split between club and player and Madrid president Florentino Pérez is likely to give in to those demands.
Mbappé is expected to take the number 10 shirt that Luka Modric will vacate in the summer. His arrival would give Madrid a front line made up of Mbappé, Vinicius and Rodrygo, supported by Bellingham.
Mbappé has won six Ligue 1 titles during his seven years since joining PSG from Monaco
But he has failed to secure Champions League glory during his time in the French capital.
Despite significant investment in the club’s playing equipment during his time at the Parc des Princes, the club has been unable to secure its ultimate goal under president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, a Champions League title.
In 2020, after beating RB Leipzig in the semi-finals, they were on the verge of touching it, but finally fell at the last hurdle when suffering a 1-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in Lisbon.
After finishing second in Group F, the club once again sought European glory this season after defeating Barcelona to reach the final four, but consecutive 1-0 defeats against Borussia Dortmund left them out of the competition.
However, while glory on the continent continues to elude them, PSG have enjoyed domestic dominance during Mbappé’s time at the club.
Since arriving from Monaco in 2017, Les Parisiens have been crowned Ligue 1 champions six times, only missing out on the title in the 2020-21 season, when Lille pipped them to first place by a single point.
Mbappé has been the club’s top scorer in all competitions and in every campaign since his £155m transfer was made permanent in 2018.
During that time, Mbappé has lifted the French Cup three times, the French League Cup twice and the French Super Cup three times.
Mbappe has the chance to walk away with another silver medal when PSG take on Lyon in the 2024 Coupe de France final later this month.
