Kyle Sandilands received some big family news Wednesday morning when he found out he is now a great-uncle.
The radio host, 52, who shares his one-year-old son Otto with his wife Tegan (née Kynaston), was shocked to learn that his stepsister’s daughter had just given birth to “little Ari “.
He received the news in the form of a text message while he was in the middle of his KIIS FM Kyle and Jackie O Show with co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
Opening the live message, Kyle played the accompanying video and listeners heard the sounds of a family cheering with joy.
“Oh, you’re a dude,” Jackie, 49, said, as Kyle added, “Oh, little Ari, how sweet.”

—Is this the first time you are an uncle? -Jackie asked.
“I didn’t even know her son was pregnant, so it was a complete surprise… My sister is 60 years old,” the radio host explained, revealing that it was his niece who gave birth.
‘I am the great-uncle of my stepsister’s adopted children’s son. [sic]. That’s family, in any form.

Jackie asked, ‘Are you going to respond to that text?’ to which Kyle responded, “Probably not.”
It’s not the only exciting family news Kyle has received, as he recently revealed that his wife Tegan, 37, changed her surname to Sandilands on all government-issued documents.
Until recently she had used her maiden name, Kynaston.
She received the news in the form of a text message while she was in the middle of her KIIS FM Kyle and Jackie O show with co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 49 (right).
“Over the holidays I had to go to Service NSW with Tegan to officially change her name on her driving license and all that,” he explained.
‘It’s done, everything has changed. At the end of the day we walked out and Tegan said, “It’s official.” I reminded him that it was official the moment we got married,” she said.
The shock jock said “I do” to the communications executive at the world heritage-listed Swifts mansion in Sydney’s Darling Point in front of 130 guests in April 2023.
Tegan and Kyle welcomed a baby boy, Otto, in August 2022.
