Kyle Sandiland’s rude note to Media Watch and presenter Paul Barry: ‘Everyone was shocked’
Kyle Sandilands busted ABC’s Media Watch after host Paul Barry called out his KIIS FM breakfast show during a recent episode.
The episode, which aired two weeks ago, investigated Sandilands’ violation of radio decency with his comments about monkeypox last year.
It was also investigated whether the network’s staff were instructed to undergo ‘sensitivity training’, as well as hire a ‘second censor’, to monitor live broadcasts and ensure that everything is in compliance is with the ACMA Code of Practice.
While Kyle was angry, he admitted to giggling every time the show was on.
“How dare they question us. It’s worth laughing because every time we’re there I have to laugh to myself,” he said.
Co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson further recalled how Media Watch had been “on their backs” since Kyle and Jackie began their careers as a radio duo.
“Before there was no e-mail, there was only a fax machine,” she explained. “They used to fax in their questions about an upcoming story.”
“Kyle always wrote a big ‘F off’… He scribbled it over and faxed it back to them.”

Kyle confirmed that he would write the “full” sentence of “f**k off.”
“Everyone was shocked,” he said. “They (thought) that this would be the end of our lives. But nothing happened.
“I think they even told the story that we actually wrote that.”
Kyle continued to criticize Barry after targeting their show’s censor, as Sandilands’ recent comments about masturbating and jerking off him if he and Jackie were to win over radio viewers fell flat.
They played a clip from the Media Watch episode and one of the uncensored moments, before Kyle called the network employees “hypocritical idiots.”

“I bet this guy (Barry) secretly loves it… And they’re so outraged by the ABC that they’re playing it all to their audiences uncensored,” he said.
“That gives me a kick.”
Kyle clarified that his show isn’t required to have censorship, but he did “chose” it because of their foul-mouthed audience that often comes out blue.
“Let me clarify this: It is not the government’s mandate to have a censor,” he said.
“That was the radio station we used to work at and part of the reason I left, because I’m not being told what to do and I’m being tricked and controlled by the government.”
