Kyle Sandilands has shared some of his secrets in a candid interview.

I’m speaking until this week Stellar Magazine, the shock jock, 49, revealed that his worst fears lost his success for a long time – and that fear has motivated him.

‘Only in the past two years did I realize, hey, that’s an unnecessary fear. But I think it might be part of what drove me, ”he told the magazine.

Kyle has had an impoverished and difficult upbringing and has gone through periods of homelessness. Kyle has always worried that he will end up on the street again.

“I’ve rolled the dice and went sideways with the blind belief that everything will be fine, but in the back of my mind my whole plan is not to live in a cardboard box again,” he added.

Kyle said he was “fascinated” by the radio and listened in while he was homeless and sleeping behind a gas station, but he never dreamed he would work in the industry.

‘Once I realized I was there I had to hold on and I thought if I didn’t have this job I would be homeless again. And yet, to this day, I think that in the back of my mind, ”he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kyle explained that on June 10, he is hosting a ‘surprise party’ aboard a ‘huge’ boat for his 50th birthday – but he hosts many of the festivities himself.

The KIIS FM star added that it can be quite tricky as he invites a lot of people who don’t like each other.

“Some of my family are from Queensland and haven’t seen each other in 35 years, and some of them don’t get along very well,” he told the paper.

Kyle added that his girlfriend Tegan Kynaston, 35, will be coming over, as will his friends and radio staff.

No word on whether he invited his ex-girlfriend, Imogen Anthony, 30, but the radio star is known to be friends with his exes.

The couple started dating a few months after divorcing his ex-girlfriend Imogen in late 2019.

Kyle had known Tegan for five years before hiring her as communications director for his company in 2017.

Despite knowing Tegan for a number of years while with Imogen, Kyle made it clear that there was no overlap in the relationships.

He also said that Tegan was never his “personal assistant,” as reported at the time.

He told No Filter host Mia Freedman: ‘Once Imogen and I broke up [in 2019] there was a time when I was abroad alone for a while, and Tegan was great.

She was someone who knew me well enough and I felt safe talking about something personal [with her].

‘And she happened to be single, at the same time I was single too, and we just got to know each other – and this was a long time after Imogen and I were done -‘ Oh, there are feelings here. ”

Kyle said it was Tegan who first broached the topic, adding, “It developed slowly from then on. It was fun, it was a fun thing. It came from a real place of friendship. ‘

Kyle was in a relationship with model Imogen for eight years before they split in 2019. He was previously married to singer Tamara Jaber from 2008 to 2010.
