Kyle Sandilands has defended Hollywood star Armie Hammer following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Friday.
The 37-year-old Call Me By Your Name star has been out of the spotlight since 2021 when allegations of sexual assault and cannibalism surfaced.
During the interview, host Morgan directly asked Hammer if he was actually a cannibal.
Hammer told Morgan that the allegations were about consensual sexual acts and kinky role-playing. When asked if he was actually a cannibal, Hammer replied, “You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to have eaten somebody.”
The actor confirmed that he did not eat anyone.
During Monday’s The Kyle and Jackie O, Sandilands, 53, shared his thoughts on the controversy that has left Hammer’s career in tatters.
He expressed sympathy for the star, who has been ostracised by Hollywood and faces significant financial difficulties after allegations of cannibalistic fantasies arose from text messages allegedly sent by the actor.
“Now this guy is broke, all because obviously he and his girlfriend had some weird, witty banter about things like, you know, ‘I love you so much I want to fry your ribs,'” Sandilands said.

‘It’s not my witty joke, but I still don’t think it was enough to get him cancelled from Hollywood.
Sandilands also highlighted the speed of the reaction against Hammer.
“When some ex posts some questionable messages, everyone instinctively reacts and says, ‘Oh, the guy is a cannibal, he’s no good,'” she said.
“The world is really bad like this, have you noticed? This guy has no prospects anymore, he has no money. No. I feel a little sorry for him, since he hasn’t really eaten anyone.”
Hammer’s scandal erupted in early 2021 when graphic messages allegedly sent by him surfaced, describing violent sexual fantasies, including cannibalism.
The consequences were swift: Hammer was dropped by his talent agency, his PR team, and several film projects.

Hammer reportedly spent six months in treatment after his life was turned upside down by sexual assault allegations and claims he has a cannibalism fetish.
During his interview with Morgan, the actor confirmed that he hadn’t eaten anyone, but did admit to once drawing his initials on his ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze’s thigh.
However, she denied that it was an attempt to mark her.
“There wasn’t even blood,” he said.
Hammer confirmed to Morgan that he cheated on his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, during their marriage before it fell apart in July 2020.
During his interview with Morgan, the actor confirmed that he hadn’t eaten anyone, but did admit to once drawing his initials on his ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze’s thigh.
Hammer also spoke about his relationship with Effie Angelova, who has accused him of sexual assault. He said their relationship was “a very intense, very sexually charged affair between two people with very similar inclinations and kinks.”
During that segment, Hammer admitted that out of context, their conversations would seem troubling.
‘Any of those conversations that we had within that relationship, when you take them out of that context and put them in broad daylight, they don’t look as good.’
Hammer said Angelova had more experience in the kink world than he did.
“Each person has their own sexual fantasies. The spectrum of sexuality is very broad and each person can live their own sexuality in the way that best suits their needs and tastes.”
Hammer, 37, became emotional at times during the interview with Morgan. During one interaction, Morgan said he was “shocked” by Hammer’s revelation.
