Kyle Sandilands has revealed his family were forced to flee a playground while on holiday in Mossman when a fight broke out between locals.
The 53-year-old tabloid radio host poked fun at the difference between his getaway to Port Douglas compared to his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s glamorous trip to Europe.
As Jackie, 49, jetted off to France to attend a social wedding at a French chateau, Kyle told how he and his family had to deal with far less elegant situations.
During his break from KIIS FM, Queenslander Kyle and his wife Tegan Kynaston travelled to Port Douglas with their 23-month-old baby Otto.
But things took a turn when they visited the nearest park in Mosman and were forced to flee the area when a verbally abusive fight broke out between two families.
Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Monday, Kyle explained that they were shocked when they saw groups of people drinking and smoking in the park, despite signs warning against it.
He shared: ‘I get out of my car, we drive to the kids’ playground and there’s a sign on the fence that says no smoking, no drinking, no dogs inside the kids’ playground, that’s normal.
“We opened the door and the locals were there, they had dogs, they had alcohol, they had cigarettes, there was smoking everywhere!”

He said the groups had large Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs loose in the park and were all arguing with each other and swearing, leaving Kyle and his family shocked.
“Everyone was fighting each other. There was a group in the little barbecue area and a bird was screaming (a series of expletives), screeching,” he shared.
“Tegan panicked, my wife had never seen anything like that. I said, ‘Honey, it’s okay,’ her eyes widened as I pulled the baby out of the car.
‘There was a lot of shouting and commotion. I heard a group of people shouting and I thought: thank God, someone has some common sense.’
“I heard a bird scream, ‘Stop swearing, you moron, this is a fucking playground.’ I thought, ‘Someone has some sense.'”
In the tense twist to the holiday, Kyle said he quickly took a video of his 23-month-old son Otto on the zipline (pictured) before fleeing the park when two families got into a tense fight.
However, she said another woman approached the person with a bottle in her hand, prompting Kyle and his family to flee the park amid the argument.
“I thought, ‘Okay, let’s just get the kid on the zipline real quick, take a little video,’ and then I ran back to the car and fled the area,” she shared.
Comparing his vacation to Jackie’s European getaway, Kyle joked that he was a “country bumpkin” for most of his trip and certainly wasn’t enjoying luxury speedboat rides like his co-host.
“The only time I ever went on a speedboat ride was at that park. Two very different vacations,” he joked.
Meanwhile, Jackie added of her luxury trip: “I was surrounded by the most luxurious things!”

While Kyle was in Port Douglas, Jackie enjoyed a luxurious holiday in Europe, sightseeing in London and relaxing in Mykonos, Greece, before travelling to France to attend a wedding.

Their wedding took place at the Château de la Napoule, a restored French castle located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, about a 15-minute drive from Cannes.

As well as the wedding, Jackie also enjoyed a getaway to Greece with her best friend Gemma O’Neill, where they stayed at the luxurious Soho Roc House, which can cost up to $2,000 a night.
This members-only hotel is located on the beach and features a host of five-star amenities, including a fully stocked minibar with premium beverages and Egyptian cotton sheets.
Each room also features a rainfall shower, a Nespresso machine and a range of expensive beauty products.
The venue is owned by the prestigious Soho House group, which boasts A-listers such as Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner and Ellie Goulding.
