The Kyle and Jackie O Show is known for its trademark crude and explicit humor, but the co-hosts have now promised to tone down their antics.

Shock jocks Kyle, 53, and Jackie, 49, have failed to win over Melbourne viewers since expanding to the city in April 2024, causing radio ratings to plummet.

However, apparently in a bid to win over the city’s fans, Sydney’s top-rated show KIIS FM has now promised to “behave” and tone down its cheeky antics.

A new slogan advertising the program reads: “Listen now.” We’re behaving,” in an apparent attempt to appeal to a broader audience in Melbourne.

The advert has been plastered all over Melbourne buses as the breakfast show poked fun at its naughty reputation.

Kyle and Jackie interviewed people about their sex lives and revealed how to spot an erotic massage parlor in some racy segments of their show.

But after the show launched in Melbourne last year, KIIS FM management has been transforming the show to make it more accessible to the new market.

In November, it was announced that Kyle would scale back his signature graphic sexual content in a bid to appeal to the Melbourne market.

“Sexual content was actually a small part of the show,” ARN content director Duncan Campbell told Mumbrella.

“Because it was graphic, it got everyone’s attention, but (Kyle) took it away, actually.

‘It’s still sexual content. But not the graphic sexual content it once had.

Campbell told the outlet that Kyle was the one who “came to the table” to tone down the graphic content and is passionate about winning over Melbourne.

‘(Kyle) wants to win in Melbourne. There is no doubt about that,’ he added.

The Kyle & Jackie O Show has gotten off to a slow start in Melbourne since expansion and suffered another small drop in ratings for seventh-ranked GFK radio in the Victorian capital.

Placed in eighth position on Breakfast with a 5.1 per cent share, the duo were well behind Nova’s Jase and Lauren, as well as Triple M and ABC Melbourne.

However Iin Sydney, Kyle and Jackie Still, they have managed to take first position in their breakfast time slot.

This despite a drop to 13.1 percent of the audience.

Kyle previously blamed city residents for the show’s poor ratings in Melbourne in an explosive rant.

“It’s their fault, they’re late to the party, they’re pearl clutchers, they all love the shit show that used to be here,” he fumed.

‘They’re a month from number one and now they’re starting to go down the gurgle again, but everyone is still (long censorship beep)… about it.

‘If you want to listen to shit, listen to shit, that’s fine with me.

‘At the end of the day, he (Jase Hawkins) is a ranga from Brisbane, he’s not even a Melbourne boy, so who’s being kidded? Pests.’
