The Chrisley family can’t seem to stay out of trouble as their son Kyle was arrested Tuesday on assault charges.
The arrest comes about two months after Chrisley’s star parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, began serving time in federal prison for bank fraud and tax evasion.
A source at the Rutherford County Jail in Tennessee says Kyle was arrested and booked by the Smyrna Police Department. for felony aggravated assault, but he was later released after posting $3,000 bail, TMZ reports.
Details about what exactly happened and what led up to the incident have not yet been released.
Kyle’s father Todd is currently serving his 12-year sentence, while stepmother Julie has begun her 7-year sentence.
“The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work,” prosecutors said at the time of sentencing.
“The jury’s unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are professional con artists who have made their living jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, ripping off sellers and evading taxes at every turn.” they added.
The family was the subject of the reality series “Chrisley Knows Best,” starring Georgia real estate mogul Todd Chrisley. The show is still launching its tenth season on the USA Network.
The relationship between Todd and Kyle has been strained over the years. Viewers of the show know that Kyle had struggled with substance abuse issues for years and that Todd had been awarded custody of Kyle’s daughter, Chloe.
Kyle alleged that her father was using the girl for television ratings, causing their relationship to worsen further. However, Kyle has since said that he has patched things up with his father.
