Kyle Chalmers has claimed gold in the men’s 100m freestyle at the World Championships in Japan with a stunning swim.
The Aussie finished first in 47.15 seconds ahead of USA’s Jack Alexi and France’s Maxime Grousset, with world record holder David Popovici only sixth.
‘I feel awesome,’ Chalmers said after the race
‘That was the last medal that to complete the set in my swimming career to it feels great to do that against such a stacked field.’
With the gold at the World Championships, Chalmers has now won gold at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, as well as the short-course World Championships.
