A Kyle and Jackie O star is set to marry his partner of five years and has announced plans to broadcast their Las Vegas wedding live on radio.
News presenter Brooklyn Ross, who has worked at KIIS FM for 10 years, revealed on Friday that he popped the question to his boyfriend Damien Dirienzo.
Speaking to presenters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, the radio star said he got down on one knee during a romantic home-cooked dinner at his home.
“I just want to tell you that after five years with my boyfriend Damien… I popped the question and he said yes,” Brooklyn told his radio colleagues.
As the crew cheered, Kyle, 53, cheered: “It’s a big gay wedding. Oh, wonderful.”
The shock announcer then attributed Brooklyn’s engagement to her own brother Chris’ recent wedding.
“I know what happened, because you and Damien came to my brother Chris and Nat’s wedding and got carried away with emotion,” Kyle said.
Brooklyn agreed, saying, “They’d actually been together for less time than Damien and I. That was the thing and I was like, ‘We have to do it now.'”

The news presenter went on to reveal the details of how he decided to propose to Damien, saying he originally wanted to do it on the radio.
“I was originally thinking of bringing it here and doing it live, but Jackie was like, ‘Are you sure you want to do it here? Is it really romantic?'” he said.
‘In the end, I made dinner at home. I made him the dinner I had made him the first time he came to my house. A creation with salmon and fennel.
‘I had a little garland of red roses and candles and it was a perfect night.
“Then I took him out onto our balcony. I was like, ‘What do I say?’ but when it happened, I just said, ‘Will you marry me?'”
Kyle and Jackie, 49, called the proposal “very cute” before showing a video of the happy moment in question.

Listeners were able to hear the moment Damien walked into his shared home with Brooklyn and saw the very romantic dinner he had arranged.
“I’m in shock. What is this?” she said, to which Brooklyn replied, “Just a little surprise dinner.”
“Oh my god, I feel almost as bad. Why did you do this?” Damien said, still unaware of the proposal that was about to happen.
—Because I have a question for you, Brooklyn confessed.
Damien started to get it and said, “Wait a minute. Oh my God, look at all the cameras. This is so random.”
-I love you so much and I wanted to ask you before we go… will you marry me?- Brooklyn said sweetly as she knelt down.
—Yes. Oh my God! Yes! —Damien replied.

When Kyle and Jackie pressed Brooklyn for details on what his and Damien’s wedding ceremony will look like, he admitted that he wants a Las Vegas wedding.
“Damien and I didn’t want a big church wedding. It wasn’t what we wanted to do,” she said.
‘We’re all going to be in Vegas in a week, so I thought, let’s have a Vegas wedding.’
Kyle audibly got excited at the thought of a Las Vegas wedding for his co-worker and lifelong friend.
He said, ‘We’re not just going to the iHeart Music Festival. You, Jackie and your new husband are going to New York.
“Then we’ll all be in Los Angeles. This will be the best trip ever.”
Brooklyn and Damien began dating in 2019 and the news anchor first shared a picture of the couple together in August of that year.
“Wedding and honeymoon all in one,” Brooklyn agreed, revealing that she was considering having an Elvis impersonator perform at the ceremony.
She also agreed to get married at A Little White Wedding Chapel, where Britney Spears eloped with Jason Alexander in 2004 before divorcing 55 hours later.
Brooklyn announced her engagement on Instagram moments after sharing the news on live radio.
He uploaded images of the magical night in which he was seen on one knee proposing with a Tiffany ring on his balcony.
With the Sydney skyline in the background, Brooklyn lit candles and set up an outdoor dining area so they could share a romantic dinner together to celebrate.
“She said yes!” Brooklyn wrote in the caption of the photoshoot video in which she also poses with Damien and their Pomeranian dog, Edamame.
Brooklyn’s famous friends took to the comments of her post to leave their congratulations and well wishes.
On the table in front of them was the beautiful diamond-encrusted ring Brooklyn had proposed to her from Tiffany, though she revealed the couple got the ring back.
“I loved the ring,” Damien confessed on Kyle and Jackie O’s show, revealing that he asked Brooklyn to give him back the engagement ring in exchange for two wedding rings.
“The ring was very pretty, but it’s not something you want to wear every day. It’s something you put on once in a while to give yourself a nice gift.”
