Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, announced Saturday the surprise birth of her and husband Riley Hawk’s first child.
The 32-year-old daughter of late Nirvana frontman and actress Courtney Love took to Instagram to share the shocking news with her 1.6 million followers.
She wrote in the caption, ‘17.9.2024 Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk. Welcome to the world, most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.’
Riley’s father, renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk, joined the comments to jokingly write about his first-born grandson: “My favorite grandson!”
Cobain is believed to have married Hawk in a ceremony officiated by REM lead singer Michael Stipe in October 2023.

Frances reposted the upload to her Instagram Stories, adding John Lennon’s 1980 song Beautiful Boy.
Cobain and Hawk did not announce that they were expecting a child, catching fans completely off guard with the announcement.

Frances notably incorporated her famous surname into her newborn son’s nickname.
Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994 at age 27, when Frances was only one year old.
