Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh event comes under fire after Malibu mayor says the company claimed Kourtney threw a baby shower to get approval for an ‘influencer party’
Kourtney Kardashian is expected to be one of the agenda items at Monday’s Malibu City Council meeting.
The 44-year-old reality star — who has already decorated her own home with Halloween decorations — is accused of renting another home and lying through her event planner about city permits about why she needed them.
According to TMZMayor Bruce Silverstein accused the event planner of using the house for a baby shower to get a permit, but instead used it as a promotional party for her wellness brand Poosh.
DailyMail.com has reached out to a rep for Kourtney for comment.
A source tells DailyMail.com that, contrary to the mayor’s statement, the event was never described as a baby shower on the permit application.

The mayor issued a statement titled, “The City of Malibu continues to put celebrities and the Uber rich over residents: City staff sells out to Kardashian and grants emergency permits for a large event in a vacant single-family home in a private neighborhood.”
He wrote, “As an elected official, however, I am shocked by the situation, and it helps me understand what residents in the city are dealing with.”
The mayor said the alleged practice was “not a good look for the city – although it is a great advertisement for non-residents who want to come here and destroy residents’ peaceful enjoyment of their homes.”
He then stated that he believed the permit had been obtained under false pretenses.
“I understand that the event is being presented as a baby shower hosted by the property owner.”

The account included a blueprint of the house and the various planned activities, including a nail salon, massages and a hair salon.
“Both statements contradict what the event planner told me, which is that the house is being ‘rented’ for an ‘influencer event,'” the mayor wrote.
Brands represented at the party included Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila and a Wet Bar.
Valmont Cosmetics, along with more mainstream brands like Cover Girl and Sally Hansen nail polish, also paid to be part of the festivities.
Another alleged misrepresentation is that the permit stated that 94 guests would attend the “baby shower.”
The mayor, on the other hand, claimed that around 600 guests attended the event.
However, an attendee at the event claimed that no more than 100 people attended the event, which was organized for friends of Poosh.
A video on the company’s Instagram Stories shows someone who looks like Kourtney getting out of a luxury rental car, walking into the event and taking viewers on a virtual tour.

Silverstein claims that despite the misleading video, Kourtney never showed up at the event.
The mayor requests an internal investigation into the permit and how it was obtained.
