Kourtney Kardashian has opened up about her decision to stay home for 40 days after giving birth to her fourth child, Rocky, whom she shares with husband Travis Barker.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Kardashians, the 45-year-old reality star explained that she didn’t plan on leaving the house for her first month and a half postpartum.
While opening up about her new life as a mother of four to younger sisters Kim and Khloé Kardashian, Kourtney reveals she will be staying home “for 40 days.”
‘Will you stay home for 40 days and 40 nights?’ Khloé asks, looking surprised.
During a confessional, the Poosh founder explained that “in many different cultures, women don’t leave the house after having a baby for 40 days, to let their body have that time to heal and beyond.”

‘I really like attachment parenting. I don’t really separate myself from him. I love being home right now, like I’m spending my time taking care of my baby and bonding with him,” she continued.
Khloé then jokes after 40 days if Kourtney was going to ‘go to a rave’.
“No, I just feel like I don’t want to go anywhere yet,” Kourtney admitted.
Khloé then reflected that staying home for so many days in a row wasn’t out of the ordinary for her.
‘Welcome to my daily life. I haven’t had a baby and I’m still turning 40 days,’ joked the mother of two, who shares her daughter True and her son Tatum with her ex Tristan Thompson.
Kourtney and Barker tied the knot in Portofino, Italy, during the summer of 2022 and then welcomed their little one last November.
Earlier this month, Kourtney finally revealed the medical condition that forced her to undergo emergency fetal surgery while pregnant with Rocky.

“It’s very rare that this is the condition he had, but it’s also very rare and we were lucky that we caught it,” he explained in a confessional. “And thank you, God, for this successful surgery. I am honestly so grateful, I have no words.”
She bared her soul about her anxiety, saying, “She was definitely full of fear after the surgery and the fluid in her lungs.”
The reality superstar said: “It actually started to come back and then I watched this documentary called Heal which was about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health.”
She candidly reflected on how she coped with the ordeal, saying: “I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers, and after that change of mind, the liquid completely disappeared and we didn’t have a single “just a problem.” ‘

Kourtney, who shares her eldest children Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, nine, with ex-fiancé Scott Disick, first went public with the surgery last September.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” she shared at the time.
“I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear,” Kourtney added on Instagram.
When the operation took place, Blink-182 hastily postponed some of their European tour dates so Travis could fly home to his wife’s bedside.
Kourtney and Travis started dating in 2020 after almost 10 years of friendship; Travis was also her neighbor.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the United States,” the band announced on their social networks.
Travis then took to his own social media and cryptically posted photographs of the prayer room at Glasgow Airport.
Since welcoming her baby, the mother of four has encouraged other moms to ignore the “pressure” to get back to their pre-pregnancy body.
‘Dear new moms: Your body is beautiful in all stages. “During pregnancy when we glow and grow, postpartum when we heal and shrink, and then I find that period more difficult as our bodies are still adapting,” she told her followers in an Instagram Story shared in April.
She continued: ‘And if you’re breastfeeding, that’s another part. I’m trying to be kind to myself as my body finds a new normal. “The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different is unrealistic.”
