Professional boxer Schan Kossobutski wants to get closer to a world championship fight.
The 34-year-old heavyweight duels the American Jared Anderson on July 1 in the city of Toledo, as his Universum boxing stable from Hamburg announced.
“We want to bring the heavyweight premier class back to Germany,” said Universum boss Ismail Özen-Otto of the “Deutsche Presse-Agentur”.
The eighth in the WBC world rankings wants to challenge British world champion Tyson Fury with a win. In a win against Anderson, Fury can no longer get past Kossobutski, said Özen-Otto. The Kazakh has won all of his 19 professional fights, including 18 by knockout.
His opponent, who is eleven years his junior, has won his 14 fights by knockout and has not suffered a defeat either. “We will show in Toledo that Schan has nothing and nobody to fear,” added Özen-Otto.
