After the Knicks Traded back in the 2024 NBA Draft, they selected the guard. Pacome Dadiet with the 25th pick on Wednesday night.
New York originally had No. 24, but traded him to the Washington Wizards for picks Nos. 26 and 51. The Knicks would select George Kyshawna forward from the University of Miami, whose rights will pass to Washington once the transfer is completed.
The Knicks then traded that 26th pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for five second-round picks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
By Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sportsthe Thunder are sending the most favorable 2025 second-round pick via the Celtics or Grizzlies, OKC’s 2026 second-round pick via the Warriors, a 2027 second-round pick via the Timberwolves, the second-most favorable favorable of 2027 between four teams (OKC, Houston, Heat, Pacers) and the most favorable of 2027 between those same four teams.
The 6-foot-8 Dadiet averaged 6.6 points on 47.3 percent shooting in 59 games in three different European leagues last season.
By trading the 26th pick and keeping Dadiet, and replacing those picks with two second-round picks at rookie minimums, the Knicks save approximately $3 million in team salary for next season, according to Yossi Gozlan of Capsheet.com.
It’s still unclear if the Knicks will hide Dadiet.
