Kmart shoppers rush to buy the $5 version of a luxury Australian product
- A Sydney Kmart shopper stumbled upon a $5 car bottle holder
- Product is ‘almost identical’ to Frank Green’s Car Cup Holder ($19.95)
Kmart shoppers are in a frenzy after discovering a $5 purchase that’s “identical” to a cult high-end wellness product.
Tya, from Sydney, stumbled across a car cup holder in the camping section of her local Kmart, and her mind immediately went to the Frank Green Deluxe Car Cup Holder Expander ($19.95).
Shoppers say the handy Kmart purchase is the ‘perfect’ travel companion, with the silicone holder easily supporting even the heaviest bottles.
The product was designed to cater to drink lovers whose beverages didn’t always fit in the cramped storage space of their car, and cheap buying has been considered by many to be their ‘holy grail’.
Shoppers also particularly like the fact that their perfect mold contains Frank Green’s signature chunky water bottles.

Tya shared a photo of the product, along with a recommendation for other shoppers.
“To anyone with an emotional support water bottle: don’t walk, run to Kmart,” she said.
Thousands were immediately intrigued, with many vowing to get their hands on the $5 bottle holder.
‘This is amazing, I have to have water with me every time I leave the house,’ said one woman.
‘Oh my! I paid too much for the expensive version, I should have waited for Kmart,” wrote a second.
‘Oh my gosh, I really need this. I always throw my bottle on the seat but then it ends up on the floor and it’s a big mess,” shared one woman.

But many were not so impressed.
“I found it horrible,” wrote one man.
“It causes a lot of suction and you can’t remove the bottle with one hand; it’s hard to use when you’re driving,” one woman revealed.
“I bought one for my husband and it didn’t work,” said one wife. ‘It’s too soft, the bottle just falls over.’
